As Quality Engineer you will play a key role in overseeing quality assurance processes, conducting inspections and tests and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and continually develop robust quality plans and procedures for machined components
• Inspect and verify parts across all stages of the manufacturing process for a variety of precision machined components in a variety of materials
• Conduct First Article Inspection Reporting (FAIR)
• Ensure all parts produced are in line with drawing and specification requirements
• Manage and report on non-conformances
• Perform Root Cause Analysis and resolution, ensuring correct rework of parts where appropriate, necessary
• Collaborate with the wider team to ensure quality and production targets
• Manage customer returns, liaising and communicating with external customers to ensure positive relationships and resolution of non-conformance
• Assist and report on monthly statistics
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the quality management systems

Experience Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar role ideally gained within a Precision Engineering and/or Aerospace manufacturing environment
• Strong experience and understanding of AS9100
• Working knowledge of First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR AS9102)
• Conversant in the use of Mechanical Measurement Equipment (verniers, micrometers, calipers gauges etc.) and CMM
• Knowledge of performing first-off, stage and final inspection
• Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Capable of working independently and with minimal supervision
• Effective communication skills and computer literacy, including strong Excel skills
• Experience in the use of Problem Solving, Investigation and Control techniques (8D, 5Whys, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, PFMEA, SPC etc)
• Previous experience performing Quality Audits would be highly desirable

A client within the Public Sector based in Greater Manchester is currently recruiting for Building Inspector to join their team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, contract position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority.

The Role

Key purpose of the role is to undertake a varied workload of plan assessments, site inspections, investigating reports of dangerous buildings and other related Building Control activities.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Manage a portfolio of construction development sites, including non-domestic low risk schemes (including new applications).
• Providing accurate information, advice, and professional support to businesses and/or individuals, in accordance with the inspection framework.
• Liaising and/or consulting external agencies, stakeholders, statutory undertakers and members of the public as necessary to ensure a seamless approach to the provision of guidance and service delivery
• Positively contribute to a strong, efficient, and effective performance culture with a focus on service excellence.

The Candidate

To be considered for this role you will require to hold a Registered Building Inspector status at either Class 2a (Domestic); 2b (General) or 3 (Specialist).

It will be essential to be in experiences in the below:

• considerable experience in Building Control, either in the public or private sector, and understand the main duties required of a Registered Building Inspector.
• possess a comprehensive understanding of the key legislation related to Building Control, including the Building Act, the Building Safety Act, the Building Regulations, etc.
• willingness to work as part of a professional, forward-thinking team, who work together to carry out the objectives of the Building Control section.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering between £35 p/h - £65 p/h Umbrella Ltd. (approx. £30 p/h - £50 p/h PAYE)

About the role

• Manage and lead the property compliance service across different sites.
• Responsible for ensuring duties are carried out by the team in accordance with current Legislation, Government Policy, Regulatory Requirements, approved Codes of Practice, and guidance, and align with the Council's Corporate Plan, Business Plans and Service Plans. Failure to undertake statutory inspections could results in death, injury, structural damage, criminal proceedings, as well as reputational damage for Somerset Council.
• Operational responsibility for all property related safety compliance within the Housing Directorate, addressing areas of non-compliance.
• Technical expert to all aspects of property compliance, including fire safety, water safety (legionella), asbestos, gas safety, electrical safety, radon, lifts, and other property safety related matters, including ensuring 'Best Practice' is implemented in the delivery of the service.
• Lead on procurement activities for all property related safety compliance and ensure all required contracts are in place in accordance with the Council's governance standards.
• Ensure accurate records are kept for all property related safety compliance areas and appropriate reporting systems are in place.
• Lead on internal and external audits for the service area and ensure approved recommendations are implemented effectively within agreed timescales.

Job role/Responsibilities:
To deliver a 24/7 multi modal control room. Manage all operations of TfGM transport network and facilities. Contributing to the function lead on incidents/events whilst continuing to deliver the organisation expectations.

• Multi Modal monitoring, reporting and interventions.
• Active and dynamic management of TfGM modal transport network in GM always.
• Participate in incident response and special event plans, whilst monitoring the network.
