Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain Drive Control Systems technology, including control algorithms and application software.
• Manage core Drive Control PCB hardware and FPGA configurations.

Essential Requirements:

The Role
As a Senior Quality Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will provide discipline advice, guidance and support to the business on all matters related to the quality, ensuring outputs meet customer and regulatory requirements in a timely manner.

Day-to-day, you'll be a customer quality focal point in the implementation of our ambitious growth plans as part of the Quality team and you will use your proven experience to promote quality throughout the project lifecycle and supply chain.

• Identify, plan and implement a program of activities, via a contract Quality Plan, to provide assurance to the project throughout the project lifecycle defined by the contract.
• Work with the cross-functional delivery team personnel, helping to achieve delivery milestones and ensuring a fit for purpose / quality product to the customer.
• Risk manage project activities, ensuring mitigation in the critical aspects of production and in the final product.
• Evaluate customer requirements against our product quality capabilities, and help translate into a suitable design / contract, and appropriate inspection and test plan.
• Carry out quality audits during the project lifecycle, ensuring process procedures followed and the product is being realised in the appropriate manner.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the onsite and 3 days working from home.

Essential Experience of the Senior Quality Engineer

• Have a quality background in a related industry and be familiar with the qualities levels and disciplines required.
• Experience of implementing quality improvements and encouraging culture change within an organisation.
• Computer literate with good keyboard skills and understanding of Microsoft Office applications
• Will have an excellent working knowledge of quality tools and problem-solving techniques, and be able to provide guidance to others in the use of them (e.g. Pareto, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, 5 why's, 8D).

Qualifications for the Senior Quality Engineer

• Degree (or equivalent) in quality, Science, or Engineering
• Work based apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
• Membership of a recognised quality institute (CQI would be desirable).
• ISO 9001 auditor.

You will be responsible for ensuring meet all necessary legislative and agreed customer standards and best practice industry guidance with regard to food packaging safety through a robust quality management and risk assessment approach. Implementation and managing BRC to a high grade in regard to food packaging will be your number 1 goal here.

• Responsible for making food packaging safety, quality and integrity decisions to ensure that all products despatched are legal, safe and comply with relevant customer specifications.

• Ensure Health and safety requirements throughout the function are met, and effective HACCP systems are in operation.

• Ensure BRC and any other accreditations are maintained to a high standard

• Work with the production team to ensure standards are understood and met with realistic solutions when needed

• You may be required to help plan production schedules to ensure compliance with accreditations depending on workload.

• Having a robust investigation and follow-up system in place in the event of inconsistencies found invalidations.

• Ensure HACCP and HACCP systems are up to date for all products & are reviewed for each new product launch. Maintain the HACCP folder with up-to-date documentation/ validation/ commissioning records.

• To be involved in customer visits and audits as required.

• As this is a small family business, the above is required for 90% of the time. However, all members of the company are flexible, and you will be expected to want to help in all areas of running the company within reason.

• Educated to College/Sixth Form level. A degree in a related field is preferred.

• Prior experience dealing with BRC accreditations / similar accreditations. Food Packaging experience preferred.

• Worked in a manufacturing environment

• HACCP Level 2
