Be responsible for the management and delivery of Pharmacy education and training Facilitate and deliver training and act as a designated supervisor for trainee and foundation level pharmacists Develop education and training materials including reports relating to the management of the medicines in the Trust and undertake research and audit to support innovative practice and sustain robust medicines management systems and processes. Manager related training provision to all operation staff within the Trust. Support the department with clinical activities ensuring accuracy, legality, safety and efficacy of prescribed medication in line with local and national procedures Support with pharmacy practice-based audit and research within the department. Act as an operational lead in any relevant aspects of regulatory audit (internal and external). Support the medication safety agenda, collaborate on monitoring system and provision of information to support a reduction in avoidable harm resulting from inappropriate medicines use across the Trust. Work to deliver the medicines clinical governance plans which support safe and effective pharmacy and medicines optimisation services to patients. This involves close liaison with the medicines safety officer and multidisciplinary teams working across the Trust. Lead serious incident reviews where appropriate and provide a quality assurance function for incident reviews involving medicines. Support multidisciplinary teams to investigate incidents to enable the root cause to be understood and appropriate plans to be established to mitigate future risks.

To provide comprehensive, professional secretarial and administrative support to the senior members of the Infection Prevention and Control Team, including the Director of Infection Prevention and Control, the Lead Nurse for Infection Prevention and Control, the Infection Control Doctor, and the wider Infection Prevention and Control Team adopting a high degree of confidentiality as is required within the post.


• Act as first point of contact for the IPC team including arranging, overseeing and covering the following duties:
• Diary Management – coordinating the diaries of the IPC team prioritising appointments, and ensuring attendance at all relevant meetings (to include arranging travel when necessary).
• Arranging meetings – arranging venues, preparing and distributing agenda and accompanying papers.
• Answering telephone enquiries, taking messages and taking actions where appropriate.
• Receiving complex and sensitive information orally, in writing and electronically.
• Organise the office efficiently in a complex, changing environment.
• To use knowledge and experience to meet the needs of the team by completing non-routine tasks unsupervised on a daily basis using own initiative prioritising own workload and using initiative as to what is routine and what is urgent.
• Actively foster a positive and professional team image, supporting meetings and ensure quality and timely administrative support.

As an experienced administrator, the post-holder will be expected to create an environment of continuous quality improvement and professional development.

The post holder works autonomously within defined policies and procedures, although advice is readily available from the line manager when required. The post holder will be responsible for the smooth and efficient management of diaries as well as supporting critical programmes of work.
