JOB PURPOSE:

To act as a point of reference to manage and develop business and project governance, risk and compliance in the unregulated UK Power Networks Services (UKPN Services) electrical solutions business.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• To administer and seek improvement to the internal control framework in UKPN Services covering project governance, risk management, internal control, regulatory compliance, legislative compliance and business continuity.
• To manage the Project Governance and Control (PG&C) framework and to ensure compliance and reporting of such throughout the projects' lifecycle.
• To manage, develop and update the online PG&C governance tool to ensure the process is user friendly and shows a transparent and auditable process.
• To organise the our risk management framework for UKPN Services following our company and directorate risk management procedures to ensure all relevant business risks are identified and managed.
• To ensure the companies online risk management platform (Synergi) is reviewed, updated, and all risk controls / actions are managed.
• When designated as a tender bid risk manager to facilitate the quantification of project risks at the tender stage of bids.
• To work with the central UK Power Networks corporate risk, governance and compliance teams to ensure understanding of corporate requirements and provide assurance on behalf of UKPN Services.
• To identify and organise training on risk, governance and compliance issues for the UKPN Services business through 1:1, group or workshop facilitation.
• To facilitate the annual legislative compliance submission to ensure compliance and that any resultant action plans are completed.
• To facilitate the annual regulatory compliance submission and to ensure the evidence together with any resultant action plans are completed.
• To facilitate the Business Impact Assessment development within UKPN Services and ensure that UKPN Services business continuity plans are developed, reviewed and tested following company policy.
• To project manage ad hoc minor improvement or change projects.
• To deputise and provide support to the Risk, Governance & Compliance Manager in the execution of their responsibilities and produce timely reporting.

NATURE AND SCOPE:

UK Power Networks is part of the Cheung Kong group of companies and is divided into a regulated Distribution Network Operator (DNO) business that distributes electricity to homes and businesses in the East, South East and London, and the unregulated UKPN Services business in which this opportunity sits.

UKPN Services provides electrical technology solutions and traditional electrical contracting to large and SME businesses throughout the UK in the rail, defence, airport, nuclear, and commercial and industrial private networks' markets.

You will have a background in governance, risk, compliance and business continuity to bring a fresh perspective to the function and promote continuous improvement.

Your principal challenge is to facilitate and suggest improvements to the commercial governance framework.

The Risk, Governance & Compliance Adviser reports to the Risk, Governance and Compliance Manager who has overall management responsibility for governance, risk and compliance for the unregulated UKPN Services business.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced customer service manager/quality manager with a passion for continuous service improvement to join a growing company in Hull city centre. Previous experience of managing and developing a contact centre team would be beneficial.

Your new role
Supported by the wider leadership team, you will be taking a lead on driving performance and improvement of customer interactions and customer service delivered by the teams. Your new role will focus on 4 key areas: Quality Assurance, Customer Engagement, Performance Monitoring and Quality Management.
If you are passionate about supporting and developing your team, improving customer satisfaction, responding to customer feedback and implementing change, this would be a great role for you!
Previous experience of managing and developing a contact centre team would be beneficial, but experience of delivering and developing customer service in other settings would be considered.

You will have demonstrable experience in analysing and improving customer satisfaction. If this was in a contact centre, this would be beneficial.
Strong data analysis skills.
Excellent communicator, both written and verbal.
Ability to inspire and implement change management.

Penetration Tester - Remote

We have an exciting opportunity for a Penetration Tester to join our team! This is a full-time permanent role working remotely with some occasional travel required.

The Role & Key Responsibilities

In this role you will proactively identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities within our digital infrastructure. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our systems and data, ensuring robust defence mechanisms against potential cyber threats.

• Conduct comprehensive penetration tests and vulnerability scans on network infrastructure, applications, and other critical systems
• Identify, analyse, and report security vulnerabilities in a clear and actionable manner.
• Develop and maintain security testing methodologies and protocols.
• Collaborate with the IT, external support and internal development teams to remediate identified vulnerabilities.
• Provide technical guidance and support during security incidents and investigations
• Participate in security audits and compliance assessments
• Contribute to the development of security policies and procedures.
• Assist in the implementation of security tools and technologies.

Person Specification

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications such as OSCP, CEH, or CISSP
• In-depth knowledge of operating systems, network protocols, and security architecture.
• Proficiency with various penetration testing tools and methodologies
• Strong understanding of secure software development lifecycle
• Proven experience in conducting penetration tests on various systems, including web applications, networks, and mobile applications.
• Ability to simulate attacks and exploit vulnerabilities to assess the security posture of the company.
• Experience in identifying, analysing, and reporting security vulnerabilities
• Familiarity with common vulnerability scanning tools and methodologies (e.g., Nessus, Qualys).
• Proficiency with a range of penetration testing tools such as Metasploit, Burp Suite, Wireshark, Nmap, etc.
• Understanding of various attack vectors and techniques used by malicious actors.
• Keen attention to detail for identifying subtle vulnerabilities and weaknesses.
• Strong troubleshooting skills to devise and implement effective solutions.
