Quality Assurance Technician
Harrogate, £30,900k DOE, 4-day week
Excellent opportunity to join a food manufacturer in the Harrogate area. The role will include all aspect of ensuring food safety and managing to customer complaints in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. We are open to considering a food Science graduate with placement experience for this role or a candidate with previous experience at this level.
2 shifts available on permanent days or nights the night shift carries a 20% shift allowance.
The role of Quality Assurance Technician will include:
*Maintaining the company's quality controls, procedures, standards, specifications & policies in line with HACCP, GMP and BRC
*Training and guidance of production operatives to ensure adherence to SOP's
*Undertake microbiological testing on finished products, raw materials, and packaging
*Maintain and calibrate testing equipment
*Prepare samples and complete allergen testing
*Undertake internal and supplier quality audits
*Ensure that all suppliers continue to meet the quality requirements of the company.
*Maintain technical reports, quality documentation, and test results
*Contribute to the development and improvement of quality management systems
*Investigate customer complaints, non-conformance, and incidents of food contamination.
*Undertake root cause analysis, and corrective actions to prevent recurrence
*Assist in product recalls if necessary and handle communication with regulatory authorities
*Implement change and improvement in performance and quality
Qualifications
* 2 Years experience in a quality assurance role
* Level 3 in Food Safety
* Knowledge of quality assurance principles, including HACCP, Pre-requisites, GMP, Auditing, Traceability, NCR's
* Strong analytical skills to evaluate data effectively
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Quality Assurance Technician you will:
Ideally have worked within a QA role in the food industry or similar
Level 3 in Food Safety
Working knowledge of HACCP, Pre-requisites, GMP, Auditing, Traceability, NCR's
Have excellent communication and training skills
Ideally hold you will have Food Safety and HACCP certificates
Demonstrate an ability to understand BRC Version 9 Global Standards Food Safety
Own transport essential
Working hours:
*4 x 12 hours shifts 6am - 6pm or 6pm to 6am Monday- Thursday
*Night shift £37080 (inclusive of shift allowance)
