About the role
We have an opportunity within the Risk and Assurance Team for a Risk and Assurance Apprentice to join us on a 24 month contract, based at our offices in Oldham.
At Guinness, we are dedicated to developing a culture of excellence and innovation in our risk management and assurance practices. Our Risk and Assurance Team plays a pivotal role in ensuring our operations run smoothly through supporting teams to identify, assess, and mitigate risk.

During the apprenticeship you will be working towards achieving the Level 4 Apprenticeship - Internal Audit Practitioner qualification.
Our working style is a hybrid model. Working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm with 80% on the job training and 20% off the job time to further your learning. The college provider will work alongside you to help you achieve your goals.
Salary
The salary on offer is dependent on your age, and is above Government recommendations for National Minimum Wage & Living Wage:
* Under 18: £14,955 per annum (£17,800 in 2nd Year)
* 18-20: £16,623 per annum (£17,800 in 2nd Year)
* 21 - 22: £20,974 per annum
* 23 & Over: £19,050 per annum
What we're looking for
As a Risk and Assurance Apprentice, you will work closely with our experienced professions to learn and contribute to various aspects of risk management and assurance. This will involve working with risk owners to update the risk register on our risk management system and developing the use of our system, supporting the delivery of the internal audit contact including tracking recommendations through to completion, testing controls and processes to check they are operating effectively across all areas of the business, and collating information to feed into reporting.
You'll also be able to demonstrate:
* An ability to work effectively within a team and build relationships with stakeholders.
* An ability to work methodically, following agreed procedures.
* Good oral and written communication.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
* An ability to prioritise between conflicting deadlines and timescales.
* An ability to work to the Guinness Behaviours.
Desirable experience:
* Experience of Risk Management.
* Previous experience of working in the social housing sector
Essential Qualifications:
* Level 2 (C+ or 9-4 GCSE or equivalent) or higher.
Desirable:
* Educated to Level 3 (A level in a in a business-related subject or equivalent) or higher.
