As the Assistant Sales & Events office manager you will assist with the overall management of the Conference & Events Department, and support the team who are focussed on converting all enquires, upselling and delivering exceptional customer service at all times. You will help to maximise revenue through pricing and sales strategy, including effective diary management and an on-going competitor analysis. You will also maintain effective communication between conference sales office and event operations team.

Your skills and experience:

• Event sales experience ideally from within the hospitality sector such as Hotels, Restaurants or venues.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills to be able to positively represent De Vere.

• Have a full UK driving licence and access to their own vehicle as this role will on occasion involve travel within the UK.

• People management experience including training new starters, guiding and motivating colleagues to achieve sales targets.

• You embrace technology with confidence and are proficient using IT software. Familiarity with Opera would be advantageous, but is not mandatory as training will be provided.

As a Relationship Manager you will have full responsibility for the delivery of exceptional customer service for a specified customer segment in the major connections business.

You will work closely with senior managers and your team to deliver the customer services strategy across the networks business. This includes delivering outstanding performance against customer satisfaction targets.

Governance and Compliance 1. Establish and monitor procedures to ensure that the Trust complies with all relevant legal, constitutional, and regulatory requirements. 2. We are looking for an entrepreneurial business operations professional who will play a pivotal role in the smooth running of our office operations while also taking on significant finance related responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business operations management or office management and finance with some knowledge on HR processes for an SME business.

The successful person will be managing a small business support team that carry both finance and sales administration / purchasing responsibilities. The ideal person will come to the role with ideas on how to stream-line processes and improve the functionality and teamwork of this team to ensuring that day-to-day operations are efficient and cost-effective.

Finance Responsibilities:

• Ordering and receiving cash to include the daily recording, counting and handling of secure petty cash, transferring data to Sage 50 and reconciling
• Working across multi-currency accounts using bank feed to update any transactions to Sage
• Tracking and recording the receipt of funds from export customers and then relaying this to logistics and sales to ensure the release of product for shipping
• Make payments to suppliers
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments
• Prepare for payroll processing by third party ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations and accurate recording of staff compensation to include logging AL / sick leave / other
• Work alongside the accountant to prepare of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Work closely with external accountants to ensure accurate and timely submission of VAT returns, annual accounts, and other statutory filings.
• Work with business owners to monitor and manage company budgets, tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Reconcile bank statements and maintain accurate financial records using SAGE50 accounting software
• Assist in financial forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning processes.
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and best practices.

Operations Responsibilities:

• Receive all company requests for holiday / leave & ensure this is tracked and appropriately recorded
• Assist line managers with any HR issues to include advising where needed on appropriate protocol and processes
• Oversee all daily operations relating to finance and HR, ensuring a well-organised, efficient, and productive workplace
• Hold overarching responsibility for the ordering or office supplies, stationary etc
• Coordinate with external vendors and service providers, managing contracts and maintaining relationships
• Oversee a small function that is responsible for organising and coordinating company events, meetings, and staff activities
• Oversee and ensure the implementation of office policies, procedures, and standards, ensuring compliance working alongside the internal health and safety officer
• Act as the first point of contact for office-related queries, providing support to staff as needed

About you:

• Experience in a team leadership or management role
• Knowledge of HR principles applicable to an SME
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, with a relevant qualification (e.g., AAT, ACCA part-qualified) being an advantage.

The IT Platform Change and Transformation function is accountable for delivering all objective key results (OKRs) that are funded and committed within the GTS IT Portfolio, circa £30M per annum. The GTS Portfolio Manager will work closely with the GTS Change Delivery Manager, Head of IT Platform Change and Transformation and Senior Leadership roles to ensure that all change is delivered safely and within agreed guardrails. The portfolio comprises both agile and waterfall type deliveries.

The primary purpose of the Portfolio Manager is the end-to-end management of a large, complex technology portfolio which includes setting governance, standards and controls as well as providing portfolio support into several large value streams. The role is also required to maintain a central portfolio view that enables transparent reporting on performance to a formal governance board monthly, with key stakeholders being the Senior ITLT. The Portfolio Manager will ensure that all stakeholders related to GTS change delivery are aware of their roles and responsibilities and will hold key roles accountable for meeting delivery targets. Where deviations in guardrails are evident, the Portfolio Manager will work proactively with key stakeholders to put rapid recovery plans in place.

Key responsibilities will include leading a team to do the following:

- Portfolio Governance, Standards and Controls - Setting and documenting end to end governance standards and controls. Ensure governance R&Rs are well understood across the GTS function through regular training and communications. Work with external stakeholders such as Architecture, Security and Service Transition to encompass broader standards and governance to form an end-to-end delivery framework.

- Portfolio Support - To help size and flexibly scale a portfolio support team to support multiple large value streams. Oversee other tasks needed to support the portfolio such as assisting in recruitment and onboarding of resources.

- Portfolio Performance Reporting - Maintain working level portfolio and report weekly to Head of IT Platform Change and Transformation in conjunction with the Change Delivery Manager and ensure weekly Value Stream and Workstream reporting is completed by Delivery Leads.

- Portfolio Shaping and Planning - Co-ordinate integrated planning with Platform Owners and Senior Delivery Leads. Work with key senior stakeholders to consolidate planning inputs into investment proposals to shape the quarterly asks against portfolio for finance and resources.

What do I need?

- Extensive experience in a leadership role driving cadence on a large complex technical portfolio with ability to create a high performing digital portfolio team that can support a large technical portfolio.

- PPM or equivalent Agile qualifications such as Lean Portfolio to support a hybrid delivery framework.

- Extensive experience in production of high-quality governance/standards and managing senior stakeholders and governance boards.

- Experience in leading portfolio change through introducing PPM tools and processes.

- Strong stakeholder management and excellent communication skills is key for this role along with the ability to engage with stakeholders across all levels.
