At Equifax UK, we are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Director to join our team. As the Business Development Director, you will be responsible for winning and developing high-value prospective accounts. Your primary focus will be on promoting and selling Equifax solutions and products to new, large and complex clients in currently served verticals and new markets.

What You’ll Do

• Work closely with the Enterprise Financial Services team and provide business development for new sales opportunities and tender activities.

• Manage the entire sales process from lead generation to closing deals.

• Engage proactively with clients on a consultative basis to understand their business, challenges, and needs.

• Prepare proposals and present solutions to prospective clients.

• Develop strategic solutions that demonstrate a clear return on investment for the customer and meet the changing needs of the client and market.

• Network with key senior-level decision-makers across all client departments to pursue and close new business opportunities.

• Utilize in-depth knowledge of data usage to solve operational business problems.

• Create strong relationships with clients to add significant value and drive sales growth.

What experience you need

• Previous experience working for a Credit Bureau or Industry Reseller.

• Proven success in field sales and/or business development.

• Ability to negotiate and close complex deals with long lead-times.

• Experience in selling deals with potential revenue of over £1m.

• Potential to sell solutions to companies within the top 20 of the Equifax portfolio.

• Experience managing complex strategic relationships.

• Demonstrable over-performance sales track record.

• Ability to manage pricing negotiations.

• Knowledge of Consumer, Commercial, and Marketing data (desirable).

• Experience in presenting to small and large groups of clients and key decision-makers.

As Associate Director of Business Operations in the Directorate Enablement (DE) function for the Commercial Directorate the post holder will lead and work as part of a dynamic, multi-disciplined team.

The DE team is a newly established function and the design brings together teams from across the existing structure into single teams who will provide services back to the other sub-directorates through a business partnering model, provide the cohesion between the directorate and NHSE as a whole and support external engagement out to the NHSE system for Commercial and Estates teams. This will represent a new way of working for many colleagues but offers an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of the directorate.

This approach will streamline requirements and ensure a consistent approach to various disciplines including Business Operations & Programme management. In addition, we anticipate the following benefits:

This role is a key role as part of the Commercial Directorate, reporting to the Director of Directorate Enablement in establishing this brand new function that will support the significant ambition across the Commercial Directorate.

The Associate Director of Business Operations will be accountable to:
• To deliver the Commercial Directorate governance framework to enable effective decision making; provide standardised process and practise
• To drive a comprehensive people offering across the Commercial Directorate, including the provision of internal communications, to ensure staff are engaged and feel part of a wider community, focussed on embedding a culture which promotes attraction, development and retention for all staff.
• To manage Directorate budget, risk, assurance, governance, record management, and audit requirements.

Key aspects of this role will be to:
• Ensure the strategy is formulated for all areas of accountability, understood by all stakeholders and is delivered utilising all available resources efficiently and effectively.
• Ensure the development and management of relevant strategic plans, within the Directorate are in place alongside appropriate system and processes
• Proactively manage the key risks and issues
• Monitoring and establishing accountability on the overall progress of the strategy to ensure completion within agreed timescales.
• Manage and actively promote the relationships with key stakeholder

The DE function will provide the services outlined in this brief for the overall Directorate (a total of c.355 staff) and managing a budget of c.£278m. The post holder will have accountability and responsibility for the strategic and operational development of the Directorate.

Salary Progression

Applicants will commence at the bottom of Band 9 with a full-time starting salary of £99,891, with a pay step increase after 5 years’ service.

For posts based in Inner London, the above salaries will include the additional supplement of 20% of basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £5,132 per annum and a maximum payment of £7,746 per annum.

This is offered in accordance with NHS Terms and Conditions and is based on office location.
