You will have:

• 5 A*- Cs at GCSE including English and Maths.
• Experience of working in an administrative setting.
• Experience of attendance administration.
• The ability to use MS Office software packages such as Word, Excel and Outlook, as well as Explorer and databases.
• The ability to prioritise, work efficiently and accurately, particularly under pressure, to deadlines and using own initiative.

Key Responsibilities and Duties: First point of contact for PCN Practice Managers regarding delivery of PCN projects/schemes. Co-ordinate the delivery of enhanced services and other service submissions on behalf of the PCN. Support the induction of new PCN staff. Management and administrative support of monthly meetings, including organising and taking minutes. Management/Co-ordination of the ARRS Rota for PCN staff Recording and management of holiday and sickness of PCN staff. Provide project management support for new and existing opportunities. Finance: To monitor and check the accuracy of submissions for Enhanced Services on behalf of the PCN and ensure that all claims are submitted on a monthly and quarterly basis and payment made and received. Liaise with the RHA Finance team to monitor PCN expenditure and identifying significant deviations from plan. Organisational: To oversee the administration of PCN. Support the PCN Clinical Director to develop strategic and operational planning processes to support the PCNs objectives. Support PCN Clinical Director with writing business and development plans as required.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, experienced and pro-active Level 2 School Business Manager (SBM) to join us. You will be part of the Senior Leadership Team and will work closely with the Headteacher and other senior leaders to strategically lead and manage the school. You will be responsible for the effective leadership and management of the administrative, financial and operational areas of school which are supportive to, but do not involve, the teaching function.

About the Role

The Brownhill Learning Community (BLC)is a federation of Brownhill Special School and the Pupil Referral Service (PRS) who work together to provide education provision for school aged pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs who are out of the mainstream environment. There are 3 BLC sites across Rochdale and 1 site in Heywood. The postholder will work across all of the 4 sites across the borough.

Over the next 12 months the Governing Body for the Special school and the Management committee for the PRS are working closely with the local Authority to de federate and separate the Special school from the PRS. This post will still be needed after the defederation process has been completed

Presently the finances for the BLC are quite complex with funding for both the Special school provision and the PRS as well as many staff working across both provisions. In the staffing structure for Brownhill Learning Community there is a SBM Grade 9 and an SBM Grade 7 post. Both posts are presently vacant. The SBM Grade 9 will line manage the SBM Grade 7 until the defederation is completed and roles and responsibilities can be clearly defined once both posts have been filled.

In order to attract the right candidate for this important post, the Governing Board for the Special school and the Management committee for the PRS are willing to be flexible with hours and weeks of working for the successful candidate. This can be discussed at interview and on appointment
