About The Role
To ensure the profitable, efficient and safe operation of all allocated contracts, to include all peripheral services supplied to clients either directly or outsourced.

• Manage the delivery of all services in your specific area to provide consistently high levels of performance that meet contractual obligations to customers and the strategic objectives of the Division.
• Have full P & L accountability for your area of operation and ensure that it is managed within budget, ensuring that maximum revenue and gross margin are achieved.
• Develop plans for the profitable growth of your area, defining key goals and timelines for the development of the area.

• Liaise with OCS internal and external statutory bodies to ensure compliance with OCS and industry regulations with particular emphasis on ISO quality systems and health & safety.
• Recruit, develop and if necessary, manage the performance of all onsite operational management to deliver OCS and customer requirements within the Area.
• Motivate site managers, supervisors and staff throughout the Area to deliver high quality service to customers.
• Ensure accuracy of scheduling system and employee compliance with booking procedures.
• To ensure all overdue invoices and bad debt are dealt with and cleared within 90 days.

Requirements:

• Practical experience in quality establishment.
• Management experience within catering environment gained in Contract catering
• Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Knowledge of other soft services such as cleaning and security experience would be an advantage.
• Experience of managing a catering multi-site, service-based, national, low margin business with a minimum turnover of £2m.
• Proven track record of direct operational management experience which has been gained ideally within the catering services industry with full P&L accountability.
• Evidence of "hands-on" operational experience and a track record of successful client relationship management.
• Proven record of managing, motivating, developing and retaining a dispersed workforce through others.
• Evidence of having grown the businesses for which P&L accountability is claimed above.

Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority in Berkshire for a Finance Business Partner to join their Family Help & Safeguarding team on a temporary basis. As the Finance Business Partner (Family Help & Safeguarding) you will work with the Head of Finance and Strategic Financial Business Partner in delivering a high-quality finance business partner service to meet the objectives of the service and within the budgetary envelope. The role reports directly to the Head of Finance for Brighter Futures and has line management responsibility for 3 staff - 2 management accountants and an accountancy assistant.

Main Responsibilities

• Support the Head of Finance and Strategic Finance Business Partner in the production and delivery of the 3-year Medium Term Financial Strategy (MTFS), working closely with the Service Director and Service Managers and budget holders.
• Lead on the budget setting, budget monitoring and budget forecasting process for the directorate for Family Help & Safeguarding, which includes children's social care placements and staffing costs, and providing an integrated approach to give confidence to the financial reporting framework.
• Support the delivery of business cases and projects for transformation and/or savings proposals working with the Head of Finance and Strategic Financial Business Partner in a coordinated manner, especially in regard of the commercial and trading advice.
• Undertake robust variance analysis providing evidence to support this and to support the service area in identifying opportunities, trends, efficiencies, and good practice that will mitigate against overspends that benefit both the service and the company.
• Work with the relevant service budget managers and finance team colleagues, to deliver the end of year close-down process as directed for the company, and feed into the consolidated group accounts.

Candidate Criteria

• Qualified CCAB/CIMA Accountant, preferably CIPFA
• Experience of working at a Senior level in Childrens Finance in a Local Authority

The IT Platform Change and Transformation function is accountable for delivering all objective key results (OKRs) that are funded and committed within the GTS IT Portfolio, circa £30M per annum. The GTS Portfolio Manager will work closely with the GTS Change Delivery Manager, Head of IT Platform Change and Transformation and Senior Leadership roles to ensure that all change is delivered safely and within agreed guardrails. The portfolio comprises both agile and waterfall type deliveries.

The primary purpose of the Portfolio Manager is the end-to-end management of a large, complex technology portfolio which includes setting governance, standards and controls as well as providing portfolio support into several large value streams. The role is also required to maintain a central portfolio view that enables transparent reporting on performance to a formal governance board monthly, with key stakeholders being the Senior ITLT. The Portfolio Manager will ensure that all stakeholders related to GTS change delivery are aware of their roles and responsibilities and will hold key roles accountable for meeting delivery targets. Where deviations in guardrails are evident, the Portfolio Manager will work proactively with key stakeholders to put rapid recovery plans in place.

Ensure governance R&Rs are well understood across the GTS function through regular training and communications. - Portfolio Support - To help size and flexibly scale a portfolio support team to support multiple large value streams. Oversee other tasks needed to support the portfolio such as assisting in recruitment and onboarding of resources.

- Portfolio Performance Reporting - Maintain working level portfolio and report weekly to Head of IT Platform Change and Transformation in conjunction with the Change Delivery Manager and ensure weekly Value Stream and Workstream reporting is completed by Delivery Leads.

- Portfolio Shaping and Planning - Co-ordinate integrated planning with Platform Owners and Senior Delivery Leads. Work with key senior stakeholders to consolidate planning inputs into investment proposals to shape the quarterly asks against portfolio for finance and resources.

What do I need?

- Extensive experience in a leadership role driving cadence on a large complex technical portfolio with ability to create a high performing digital portfolio team that can support a large technical portfolio.

- PPM or equivalent Agile qualifications such as Lean Portfolio to support a hybrid delivery framework.

- Extensive experience in production of high-quality governance/standards and managing senior stakeholders and governance boards.

- Experience in leading portfolio change through introducing PPM tools and processes.

- Strong stakeholder management and excellent communication skills is key for this role along with the ability to engage with stakeholders across all levels.

What is the Role?

As a Business Analyst within SSE Business Energy, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping business strategies and processes. You will collaborate with business and IT teams to address and clarify requirements, ensuring that energy solutions are both innovative and viable. Through your analysis, you will help steer projects towards enhancing the operational effectiveness and leading the business closer to achieving its net-zero ambitions. As part of your role you will:

- Work with business and IT teams to clearly define and document requirements, ensuring successful implementation and validation through rigorous testing.

- Marshal requirements and facilitate the identification and design of business processes to accommodate innovative solutions.

- Plan, prioritise, and execute analysis tasks effectively across multiple concurrent projects, consistently meeting cost and schedule targets.

- Conduct qualitative analysis to thoroughly assess business impact, enabling you to present findings to stakeholders at all levels.

- Perform comprehensive scoping during initial and precursor project stages to pinpoint critical issues and define a clear project trajectory.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Extensive experience in a Business Analyst role supporting business critical projects.

- Extensive experience of defining high level and detailed requirements and user stories in a regulated environment with strong advisory skills in recommending efficiency improvements and aligning efforts with business growth.

- Qualified to a Certified Business Analyst standard is desirable (BCS, APMG, IIBA, or equivalent).

- Experience working in both Waterfall and Agile environments and working at all stages of the project lifecycle.

- Understanding and appreciation of working in a heavily regulated environment. Experience of the gas and electricity market, industry, and operations, or similarly regulated industry sector is desirable.
