Value Heat Treatment offer heat treatment, shot peening and metallurgical consulting services to the gear manufacturing, motorsport, mining, general, precision and repetition engineering industry amongst others. The business is ISO9001 accredited and is focussed to provide excellent quality and service in a competitive industry.
The business is currently looking for a Full time (38hrs), trade qualified Maintenance Fitter available to work between 6am-6pm as per requirement. Overtime may be required in case of breakdowns or planned preventive maintenance. Availability during Xmas shutdown to work during part or complete shutdown for planned preventive maintenance work is essential. Experience in a heat treatment plant or as a fitter on a ship is highly desirable

ROLE: Full Time Fitter
Remuneration: Salary offered - $70,000 - $75,000 plus 11.5% superannuation
This role will involve but not be limited to task listed below:
• Repair & maintenance, installation, commissioning of all machinery / equipment and attend breakdowns when requested by Production or directed by the Supervisor
• Provide support for production through Fabrication & manufacture of jigs, fixtures, tools and accessories
• Follow SOPs and work instructions and contribute suggestions for improvement

As the successful candidate you will possess the following experience:
• Minimum three years of recent experience as a maintenance fitter including MIG, TIG and preferably ARC welding experience
• Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to prioritise and organise work efficiently with good attention to detail
• Experience in preventive as well as breakdown maintenance
• hard working with a keen eye for details and be able to work effectively individually or as part of a team
• willing to learn new equipment, techniques and processes with a high degree of ownership and responsibility
• ability to work in a demanding Heat Treatment furnace work environment
