Company client is working with an investment management and pension services provider for public sector pension funds in their search for an Analyst across Actuarial and Funding Risk to join them on a permanent basis.
Within this role you will deliver and develop actuarial and funding risk modelling, analysis and reporting for pension fund clients and stakeholders. You will prepare funding (asset and liability) risk modelling using their ALM software covering analysis and oversight of long-term client funding strategy. You will then prepare funding risk reporting before it is issued for checking and review.
Role requirements:
* Experienced part or NNQ level Actuary (or qualified by experience).
* Demonstrable UK DB pensions knowledge from within a technical or pensions modelling role.
* Experience of using asset liability modelling software and working within a risk management framework.
* Experience in using PowerBI, ALM software, some prior coding knowledge would be attractive but not essential.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a team with plenty of longevity due to working on open LGPS schemes. This is a fairly small team that can offer plenty of variety and the chance to get stuck in to plenty of work. This role may go permanent for the right candidate.

Company client is working with a leading pensions consultancy seeking a Pensions Data Director to join them from any of their UK offices. This role is designed to aid de-risking projects so data is an enabler rather than a barrier.
As a Director within this team you will firstly understand the issues of your client, set a strategy and plan for resolving those issues and then provide technical guidance and oversight to the team to implement that solution for you to review. Typical projects may be centred around GMP, auditing data, benefits and calculations, bulk data rectification and benefit (re-)construction and data cleansing and improving electronic data. This role is not centred entirely around GMP work.
Role requirements:
* FIA qualified preferably or be qualified by experience (preferable to have an actuarial background but not essential)
* Strong knowledge and experience of UK DB Pension arrangements with a technical pensions background
* Good understanding of manual benefit calculations and processes and GMP equalisation and rectification

Leading partner lead consultancy seeking an Actuarial Analyst/Senior Actuarial Checker to join their office in London, Glasgow or Edinburgh. Actuarial exams/studier not required.
Company client currently working with a reputable and leading partner lead consultancy seeking an Actuarial Analyst/Senior Actuarial Checker to join their office in London, Glasgow or Edinburgh. Actuarial exams/studier not required.
This person will be responsible for checking process-based and more bespoke liability valuation work and contributing to improving the efficiency of these processes. Typical work will include actuarial valuation calculations, funding updates, transfer values and accounting disclosures, risk transfer calculations and GMP equalisation.
Role requirements:
* Degree Qualified
* Proven defined benefit actuarial analyst experience
* Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel or similar package (eg VBA)
This role would be ideal for candidates who might be looking to stop sitting the IFoA exams and/or move away from a consulting role. Whilst IFoA exams are not required, this team can still offer a wealth of progression both internally and also laterally across the business.
