Fairfield High School is seeking to employ, on a permanent basis, a Science Technician for 37 hours per week, term time only plus 7 additional days. Part time hours can be considered if requested. We welcome applications for specialists, or those with a commitment to develop in Science. You will work in close liaison with teachers and other technicians and assist in the day-to-day preparation of teaching resources and maintenance of equipment. You will join a team of technicians and the successful candidate will be logical, have good time management and be able to use their own initiative and work alone at times.

Senior Clinical Fellow in Emergency Medicine (ST4+) –80:20Research

The senior clinical fellow posts include 80% time working in the adult emergency department and 20% paid time to develop in a specialist interest of the successful candidate’s choice. The posts are open as OOPT/E for EM HSTs and as stand-alone posts for non-trainees, and can be 100% EM if required. We are also open to SAS and Specialty Doctors if that suits.

The posts provide an ideal opportunity for the successful candidates to develop their own specialist interests while working in a busy inner city university hospital, with teaching and research responsibilities and are based in the adult side of the department.

Applicants should hold a relevant postgraduate qualification (MRCEM, MRCP, MRCS, FRCA or equivalent), and should be ST4 + or equivalent, having completed a minimum of 3 years in approved SHO posts (Post Foundation Medicine) or equivalent in relevant acute specialities including at least 1 year in Emergency Medicine.

The post will be a combination of service provision including out of hours and paid time to develop a specialist interest. The candidate to combine a job in Emergency Medicine with a 20% time allowance for a specialist interest. Specialist interests may include but are not limited to education (SIM/FOAMed), global health, expedition medicine, leadership and management, advanced airway management, research (with Professor Jonathon Benger), ultrasound, resuscitation, toxicology and paediatrics. Clinical

The Science Faculty at St Katherine’s is a supportive and talented team, creative and dedicated to developing as professionals through sharing good practice with one another. The science labs are situated together and the department is well supported with two full time technicians. Science is a popular subject at St Katherine’s and over half of our students choose to study triple science at GCSE. The Science team seeks to deliver lessons which challenge all students by using a full variety of teaching and learning strategies. The student lies at the heart of the assessment process and we use a wide range of formative, evaluative and summative approaches to support them in their learning. We would welcome a colleague with a passion for science teaching who loves to see scientists of all abilities enjoying their science, learning actively and making rapid progress. We provide many enrichment opportunities based around our STEM agenda to inspire and motivate scientists and engineers for the future.

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and highly motivated Maths Teacher with excellent subject knowledge to join our Maths team. The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom teacher, with the ability to teach maths across all key stages, including the possibility of teaching A Level. We welcome applications from those without prior A level experience with the knowledge and ability to learn quickly to develop skills in this area. Applications are welcome from newly qualified ECT Teachers or a more experienced Teacher.
