About this role
Supports customer needs by leading the development of new applications. Provides technical knowledge on the use, handling, and management of Dow products. Uses understanding of the customer to define projects that deliver technical solutions to customers and markets.
In this role, you will require understanding of key business drivers for your discipline and function. You will need to be able to expand conceptual and working knowledge related to your discipline or functional area. You are expected to provide informal guidance to new team members and be able to explain complex information to others.
It is your responsibility to use technical experience, established practices, and personal judgement to analyze and resolve straightforward problems. Your performance impacts the quality of your own work and your team’s work and requires that you work within established guidelines and policies.
Responsibilities
- Effectively implements new technologies, products, or applications to address technology needs for the business. Comprehends test method scope and limitations and prepares internal test methods, designs overall testing protocol to deliver project objectives. Responsible for developing new products, application development in home care segment, works closely with sales and marketing function to successfully deploy the technology with customers effectively.
- Works closely with customers and develops roadmap to identify, develop and solve their problems technically. Convinces others about differentiated technical solutions. Articulates synergies between technologies to maximize value effectively and understands how business value is created for Dow and the customer.
- Consistently applies the scientific method to solve technical problems. Understands the connections of the scientific methods uses DoE and other methodologies effectively. Develops new approaches and solutions to problems by considering issues from different points of view.
- Manages secrecy agreements and joint development agreements to protect Dow technology for specific projects. Provides constructive input to project participants. Leads new product development and defines scope of the larger project space. Mentors junior level scientists and technologists.
- Delivers presentations or reports that distill complex ideas into clear results and proposals; communicates appropriately to influence internal and external audiences. Communicates and appropriately documents work in the form of internal reports/ROC's/presentations, technology manuals, knowledge management resources, external reports, and patents when appropriate. Serves as principal author on papers and presentations and presents at industry conferences.
Qualifications & Experience
Master's degree in chemistry, Engineering, or science related field required.
Additional Job Description

Should have good experience in formulation development for detergent bar/powder/liquid, dishwash bar/liquid, hard surface cleaners, laundry care and toiler care applications.
In addition, the job involves developing thermal management solution for printed circuit board, The role will require working in lab, handling lab equipment's for developing different formulation as per customer need. The job also involves visiting customers across India region to generate new business opportunity, offer innovative solution, trouble shooting and help in resolving quality issues if any.
Preferred Skills
Technical Skills & Competency:
Has skills and knowledge in Engineering or Chemistry. Has working experiences in R&D and/or technical service & development. Application Knowledge in Home care application such as laundry care, toilet care, hard surface care, dishwash segments.
Business Judgement:
Has commercial sense and skills to identify, develop and convert the opportunities to business. Be able to leverage technical capabilities to be commercialized effectively. Be able to collaborate with Commercial and Distributor team professionally. Proficient consultative skills and ability to customize solutions.
Self-Management:
Develop, improve and fulfill technical skills and knowledge in silicones, technologies. Be able to work and collaborate with team professionally, work & manage himself/herself independently as well – remote management. Be aware and work with business integrity and safety very strictly. Ability to develop and maintain effective internal networks regionally. Systematic, record keeping, follow up’s with customer lead etc.
Communication:
Good Oral and Written communication skills in English. Good listening skills
Be able to use Outlook as communication tool effectively. Be able to do presentation professionally for both internal and external audience.
