MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Line manage a group ofHCAs, managing their annual appraisals and Personal Development Plans are in place for each member of staff Undertake a range of digital angiography and imaging procedures requiring expertise underpinned by theoretical knowledge of the principles underlying fundus photography, digital angiography, auto fluorescence imaging and optical coherence tomography Making judgements involving a range of facts which require analysis and comparison to optimise images obtained during digital angiography (e.g. strategies to overcome small pupils, eye movement, cataract, blinking or a combination of these during fluorescein angiography Follow established departmental policies for imaging techniques and be guided by standard operating procedures and good practice when performing imaging tasks. When performing complex imaging tasks, refer to more senior members of the team for guidance Perform retinal imaging and image analysis using current standard techniques Slit lamp imaging of anterior segment of the eye using tropical stains as appropriate Clinical imaging of the external eye and ocular Adnex Continuously review work to maintain and improve quality of imaging performed Identify the knowledge and skills needed for successful personal development Undertake all mandatory training including instillation of dilating drops. Provide computer graphic services and operate several information systems relating to imaging. Assist medical staff in downloading clinical images and printing, and help with PowerPoint presentations Well-developed physical skills (manual dexterity) to fulfil duties. These are needed to capture in focus images during angiography Responsibility for the safe use of expensive and highly complex imaging equipment. Uphold quality initiatives that improve customer care and enhance the interface between staff, patients and visitors. The Opportunity

This position works out of our Westford, MA location in the AVD division.

Abbott Vascular provides innovative, minimally invasive, and cost-effective products for treatment of vascular disease.

This position will be a R&D/Sustaining engineering position supporting the FFR and OCT hardware portion of our business.  Performs the layout, construction, and evaluation of a variety of prototype Printed Circuit Boards, fixtures, and tools.  Applies engineering and scientific principles to the evaluation and solution of technical problems.  Exercises technical judgment in planning, organizing, performing, coordinating and/or directing engineering work.  Performs engineering studies.  Remains abreast of and consults on technical advancements.  Identifies and routinely uses the most effective and cost-efficient practices to execute processes; continually evaluates their effectiveness and appropriateness.

What You’ll Work On

• Support R&D and sustaining activities around OCT and FFR manufacturing including end of life, supplier change requests, Global compliance standards, IFU/Label changes, support of regulatory submissions, corporate programs, literature review, and all supporting quality system elements

• Conduct evaluations, tests, and analyses related to feasibility and function

• The position will also support the following design and manufacturing elements:

• Production support

• Interface with vendors for components

• Protocol and report writing

• Generate and modify material specification documentation

• Work with cross functional teams

• Develop and implement design improvements

• Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.

• Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.  Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in electrical/electronic engineering or related engineering field.

• Minimum 9 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

• Relevant work experience in performing the layout construction, and evaluation of a variety of Printed Circuit Boards, knowledge of analog electronics, experience with fiber optics, or capital equipment experience is preferred.

• Ability to understand and comply with applicable FDA regulations and Company operating procedures, processes, policies and tasks preferred.

• Demonstrated personal computer skills, including spreadsheet, word processing, database management, and specialized applications.

• Six-Sigma knowledge and experience desired.

• Training and experience in manufacturing processes and methods desired, especially in the manufacturing of medical devices preferred.

The base pay for this position is

$95,000.00 – $190,000.00
