DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Education Manager will support the Workforce and Education Programme to: Plan and deliver educational initiatives for the multi-professional workforce, including developing eLearning modules, videos, webinars, and infographics, aligned with ACCEND. Identify key capabilities within ACCEND, ensuring all educational content aligns with national standards. Engage with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to establish a project steering group, incorporating input from research nurses, oncology experts, patient representatives, and the wider cancer workforce. Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring adherence to agreed schedules. Lead liaison with key stakeholders across the syste The indicative roles and responsibilities are as follows: Leadership and Expertise Commission the development of eLearning content, acting as the primary liaison between the Alliance and external developers. Lead the development of video scripts with subject matter experts in research, targeting common misconceptions about cancer research and clinical trials. Collaborate with communication and engagement to create infographics to boost understanding of various research and trial types, ensuring accessibility through consultations with the workforce. Collaborate with HEIs to incorporate cancer research into pre-registration curricula as part of the influencing curricula initiative. Develop a communication and engagement strategy in conjunction with the relevant teams to promote educational materials Set-Up and Organisation Lead a social media campaign focused on research and trials, promoting the educational toolkit. Launch webinars and promotional events, ensuring alignment with the broader Alliance education programme. Attend and contribute to research, workforce, and education meetings, aligning projects with broader programme ambitions Communication and Support Implement comprehensive communication skills training, aimed at enhancing patient advocacy and improving conversations about cancer research trials for the multidisciplinary workforce. Conduct a tender process for selecting a third-party developer to provide AI-based communication skills training. Collaborate with SMEs and the provider to develop communication scenarios that align with ACCEND capabilities, and create a marking scheme for assessment. Lead consultations on developed scenarios, gathering feedback to refine and validate the training material. Develop and distribute promotional materials to support the rollout of training programmes. Support discussions on developing a sustainable model for extending CCT access beyond research nurses. Collaborate with the Research Clinical Lead, Research Pathway Manager, and Senior Programme Lead to support project delivery and strategic alignment Data and Information Identify and engage clinical nurse specialists (CNSs) within the breast workforce for pilot testing communication training simulations. Establish baseline data for CNS participants, monitoring progress and outcomes throughout the pilot. Identify and track key metrics to measure the impact of educational activities on the workforce. Ensure that data is managed effectively and meets GDPR requirements Planning and Reporting Evaluate the workforce impact of the education provided, using data-driven insights to refine and improve offerings. Track and evaluate the effectiveness of CCT, including peer support meetings and evaluations of training initiatives like CanSurviveUK. Oversee budget management Lead sustainability initiatives, working with other cancer alliances and research organisations to promote and license the educational offerings for further use. Lead the definition of outcome measures that can be monitored during the year. Track progress against these outcome measures. Quality assure the programme against agreed standards and business plans, including for the timeliness and quality of reports and meeting of deadlines. Develop and maintain a risk register for the project, reporting risks and issues to the Senior Programme Lead for Education

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Planning and Organisation Contribute to the strategic planning of observational and supportive care team projects and developments, identifying interdependencies across projects/functions, potential impacts on wider organisation, resource requirements and building in contingency and advising on necessary adjustments. Contribute to the development of performance and governance strategies and support the development and implementation of improvement programmes, in accordance with local and Divisional priorities Contribute to development and achievement of short-, medium- and long-term business plans and objectives Organise and schedule research meetings, ensuring appropriate accommodation, attendance and distribution of papers, and that an agenda is agreed Coordinate, manage and monitor work flow within the observational and supportive care team in collaboration with RM/clinical leads Policy and Service Development Contribute to the review of existing services to promote development of the observational and supportive care team services Where appropriate develop operational procedures in collaboration with the quality assurance leads Support the directorate operational leads in service development plans to align with national and local strategic priorities Performance Management Contribute to the development and maintenance of the infrastructure to measure and monitor performance within the observational and supportive care team to ensure that performance is in line with key performance indicators Optimise working practices to maintain and continuously improve efficiencies within the observational and supportive care team in collaboration with key stakeholders Participate in the monitoring of compliance with all relevant standards Business Planning and Financial Management Support the development and production of business plans for services/projects as required Analyse and interpret complex data in order to deliver well-presented information Support clinical leads and business planning to ensure targets are met to maximise income. Support the use of service line reporting to inform financial management Liaise with relevant stakeholders in the development of grant applications Management and Leadership Direct line management responsibility for non-clinical staff within the observational and supportive care team including administrative workload allocation Provide leadership within the observational and supportive care team and act as a role model and resource for all team members Responsible for recruitment, retention, disciplinary and grievance, and all staffing management issues in accordance with relevant Trust policies Contribute to the delivery of training programmes Work collaboratively to identify and meet the learning needs of observational and supportive care team members Maintain own and professional development and identify learning needs and opportunities Information Management Working collaboratively to ensure that all relevant internal and external stakeholders are provided with high-quality, timely, well-presented and relevant data reports supporting stakeholders in understanding operational efficiency, performance against national and local targets, activity and financial performance, and service size, configuration and potential for growth. Establish working practices to ensure data is accurately collated and maintained, including externally facing information e.g., web pages Ensure research outputs are communicated appropriately Communication Communicate complex research information in written and oral format to internal and external parties Work, liaise and communicate with colleagues across the Trust, including service support areas to improve the delivery and quality of research and research services Where appropriate attend observational and supportive care team meetings to present information. Represent the observational and supportive care team projects at national conferences and workshops, leading on presentations as required. Work collaboratively within all teams in the Division of Research to maintain and enhance partnerships withpharmaceutical companies, other NHS sites and academia.

To support investigators completing submissions to external funding bodies, e.g.: Research Councils and Medical Research Charities, leading on the costing and supporting submission of research grant applications and provide a full advice and support service to investigators undertaking research within the Directorates at all stages of the research process for submissions to funding bodies, ensuring all costs are appropriately classified between Direct and Indirect Research, Service Support and Excess Treatment. Lead on the development of a management system for all investigator-led grants running at the Trust and establish the financial arrangements for these while also being able to track all applications through the submission process. Maintain clear and accurate records for audit purposes, both internally complying with Trust regulations and externally complying with funders requirements and additional provision of detail Assist in the preparation of the financial tables for Grant annual returns Liaise extensively with external partners, such as collaborating Institutions, funding bodies and Investigators when required in order to produce accurate financial analysis for investigator led clinical trials. Lead on the development and implementation of improvements to the working practices, services provided and administrative systems relevant to Research Grants. Responsible for the collation of all contracts relating to investigator led clinical research. Support the research department in ensuring that the research related Trust objectives are met. Deputise on occasion for the Income and Costing Manager.
