The Role:
As a Science Teacher you will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated science lessons to students with a range of special educational needs. You will play a key role in developing our students' understanding and love for science, while also supporting their individual learning needs and promoting their personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality science lessons tailored to the needs of SEND students.
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the SENCO and other staff.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback and support to students and their families.
• Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the overall development of the science curriculum.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching skills and stay current with SEND education practices.
• Support the wider school community through involvement in extracurricular activities and events.
Requirements:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• A degree in Science or a related field.
• Experience teaching science at the secondary level, preferably in a SEND setting.
• Strong understanding of SEND and a commitment to inclusive education.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students with diverse needs and abilities.
• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards teaching and learning.
Desirable:
• Additional qualifications or training in SEND education.
• Experience with specific SEND strategies and interventions.
• Familiarity with assistive technologies and adaptive teaching methods.
