JOB PURPOSE

• The Research and Development Lead will be accountable for the end-to-end ideation to launch of innovation projects with a focus on the local brands Cenovis, Calcium Corbiere, and Lactacyd in ASEA zone in close collaboration with ASEA Brand & Innovation leads. The incumbent will act as the R&D representative of science team within ASEA and support the strategic of the brand & innovation team & allocate resources in ASEA to prioritized innovation opportunities.

KEY RESULTS/ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Accountable to ideate, develop and deliver R&D pipeline for local brands to meet agreed innovation sales targets in line with brand strat plan.
• Accountable to deliver portfolio for brands balancing short-, medium- & long-term R&D. projects that utilize claims, NPD, clinicals and packaging innovation with sustainability.
• Accountable to ensure delivery of fewer, bigger innovation projects partnering with Brand and Innovation team to strengthen our projects through consumer-based insights.
• Design and Deliver pipeline for local brands based on differentiated science.
• Strong partnership with IPM to ensure execution on time and in budget.
• Strong partnership with science team in ANZ to ensure regulatory and medical strategies and directions be fully aligned and validated.
• Strong partnership with Australia development center to ensure the early engagement and contribution of DC team to the product design and product prototyping, and product development for launch.
• Strong cross functional team work to ensure that innovation pipeline is delivered.
• Accountable to ensure that all base business protection projects for local brands are identified and prioritized based on risk.
• Ensure that a strong external technology network is being used to deliver & accelerate differentiated technology opportunities.

KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

• Science Head for AMEA Region; ASEA Brand and Innovation Heads/Leads; New Product Development (NPD) centers; Portfolio & PM, M&S including EM; Packaging Innovation, Science Hub ASEA, Medical, Regulatory, Quality, legal/IP

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

Education

• Degree in Science or Higher degree (Ph.D.) or relevant Academic qualification is desirable.

Required knowledge and/or experience.

• R&D or science innovation experience (at least 10 years) in pharmaceutical, FMCG, consumer healthcare and/or Nutritional industry is required.
• Experience in OTC medicine and health food innovation and new product development (at least 5 years) for the ASEA market is a significant plus.
• Strong science leader who can translate consumer insights into brand led pipelines.
• Experience of R&D with proven track record delivering innovation to brands.
• Experience in risk discussions and risk mitigation plans
• Experience in developing integrated plans & budget for all innovation programs in the region (for all projects in his/her scope)
• Experience in identifying and leveraging external partnerships, suppliers, providers, key opinion leaders, etc., to influence innovation for the ASEA local brands.
• Experience in influencing and advising key stakeholders & the leadership team on industry trends and new opportunities for local brands.
• Experience in E2E innovation, together with Project Managers, from ideation to launch of the innov. pipeline
• Familiar with the scope of innovations: BD opportunities, NPD, claims with significant impact that need clinicals, novel ingredients & formulation technologies, sustainable solutions.
• Knowledge and experience of understanding brand strategy, consumer insights, and translating consumer needs/problems into science solutions to build sustainable pipelines.

You will be expected to participate in software development; this includes

• engaging in product, project, and program management as needed;
• reading books and consuming such other media forms about software development;

• delivering community support to users and customers;

The first set of tasks will involve the following specific assignments:

QUALIFICATIONS

Researchers under the Programme should possess both mastery of their academic speciality, anddemonstrated practical experience producing and supporting high-quality open-source code throughcommunity engagement across multiple media. Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of the incumbent would involve researching and developing digital frameworks within which archives and live material research can be activated, including metaverse and online interface. You are also expected to innovate and initiate new research paradigms for such platforms to facilitate learning outcomes from academic programmes involving ISEAA content and projects.

In addition, you are required to support and assist in the discharge of administrative functions pertaining to the execution of E&A programming (such as the annual SEA Arts Forum, Exhibitions, Artist in Residence and Performing arts Principals) and management of the archival microsite as part of ISEAA purview.

The role includes assisting communications with relevant academic and administration departments on the delivery of academic outcomes involving ISEAA content and projects, as well as performing other ad-hoc duties as required in support of or relation to the activities of partner teams contributing to the outcomes of ISEAA.

1. You should possess a Minimum Degree in Arts and demonstrate knowledge of Arts & Humanities, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience.

At the Department of Physiology Anatomy & Genetics (DPAG) we undertake discovery science where we reassemble physiological processes at the molecular, cellular, tissue and systems level of organisation. Overview of the role:
We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Scientist to join Prof Molly Stevens’s lab at the Kavli Institute for Nanoscience Discovery. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher with strong expertise in organic chemistry who is also a confident self-starter, a collaborative team player, and demonstrate a proven track record of first-author publications in peer-reviewed journals.

In this role, you will develop a diagnostic platform applying the in-house developed technique SPARTA™ to the analysis of extracellular vesicles as potential disease biomarkers. The post will involve a range of nanobiomaterial characterisation techniques and the application of multivariate data analysis methods for sample classification.

This post is available from January 2025 for a fixed-term of 12 months, with the possibility of part-time appointments being considered.

Key responsibilities:
• Develop Single Particle Automated Raman Trapping Analysis (SPARTA™) as a non-invasive disease diagnostic technique based on EVs as biomarkers.
• Develop a deep understanding of EV biochemistry, Raman fingerprints and surface protein expression.
• Evaluate the performance of the technique with model systems and patient samples.
• Undertake the associated data analysis and interpretation, ensuring validity and reliability of data at all times, including either developing or liaising with others to use chemometrics, ML/AI algorithms and/or multivariate analysis.
• Manage your own research activities, including administrative tasks associated with the project.
• Actively participate in the multidisciplinary environment of the Stevens Group and collaborate with external research groups.

Selection criteria:
• Hold, or be near to completion of, a PhD/DPhil in materials science, chemistry, physics, nanotechnology, or related field.
• Experience in single nanoparticle analysis techniques (e.g. SPARTA, nanoflow cytometry, imaging flow cytometry, super resolution microscopy, NTA)
• Experience in extracellular vesicle harvesting techniques (e.g. cell culture, antibody conjugation)
• Experience in chemometric data analysis including multivariate analysis.
• Proven track record of first-author publications in peer-reviewed journals.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own research and administrative tasks.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
