• Plans, organizes, directs, and reviews security management, security countermeasures, facilities management from a security standpoint, and emergency preparedness for NBAF.

• Responsible for formulating and guiding the identification, acquisition, sustainment, and deployment of test technologies, simulations, instrumentations, test support networks, test control systems for operational testing and experimentation.
• Oversees a validation, verification, and accreditation program, employing a risk-based approach to support and inform test technology requirements.
• Applies knowledge of systems engineering/ systems analysis concepts, simulation and data collection technologies, mathematics, and statistics.

• Discuss edited drafts with authors to explain suggested changes in content or format.
• Tactfully explain reasons for any needed changes to authors to secure their cooperation.
• Review manuscripts to assure consistency, and understand and apply necessary copyright laws and permissions, and analyze conclusions to ensure they are consistent with the facts presented.
• Edit written material for use at national and international medical and scientific meetings in support of the broad mission of the Borden Institute.
• Determine and recommend advisability of reorganization, condensation or deletion, and rewriting to clarify confusing passages, and adjust stylistic and logical approaches, refine research methods, and select appropriate information to present.
• Ensure compliance of reprinted material with copyright law and respond to problems or inquiries relating to assigned manuscripts or policy interpretation.
• Edit entire textbooks with an average of 25 chapters on different subjects, as well as visual technical information including tables and figures.

• Adapts, modifies, or develops new techniques and/or procedures to satisfy the needs of the research project.
• Keeps detailed records of experimental data.
• Tabulates, statistically analyzes, and summarizes data using personal computers and software packages.
• Develops various procedures, devise new or improved methods, or design specialized equipment.

• Collects, prepares, evaluates, and verifies samples and supporting records.
• Performs routine and recurring techniques and studies using a variety of specialized equipment.
• Maintains, calibrates and modifies equipment and automated systems used for test and evaluation procedures.
• Keeps detailed records of experimental data.

• Assures compliance with the defined standards or regulations and participates in audits by regulatory agencies.
• Oversees and provides technical advice and support on quality management and quality assurance concerning in-depth facilities related requirements.
• Works with the professional staff to ensure collaborative efforts in the implementation of plans, procedures, and standards for maximizing productivity for the Facilities Operation and Management Unit (FOMU) operations, maintenance, and repair work.
• Ensures facilities quality requirements and necessary paperwork are completed, reviewed, and delivered and retained in a timely and accurate manner.
• Develops, and implements monitoring systems and training activities to assess capability and proficiency of the quality program for FOMU to ensure compliance and appropriate documentation.

Newly-hired mathematicians and mathematical statisticians begin their careers in the Mathematics Development Program (MDP). The goal of the three-year MDP is to provide on-the-job training in the broad range of mathematical and statistical sciences at NSA. This is primarily accomplished through 6-month tours in NSA offices of the MDP participant's choosing. Mentorship is provided for each tour and participants work on real mission problems.

MDP members also study cryptologic mathematics, statistical data mining, and related subjects in courses taught by Agency experts. Participants are required to develop skills in programming and using computational resources to solve mission problems. Various short-term and long-term travel opportunities exist for interested participants but are not required. MDP members are able to take advantage of other professional development opportunities available at NSA as well. This includes continuing education opportunities and optional Agency courses in everything from professional communication to goal setting to machine learning. Career mentorship and participation in professional networks such as WIMS (Women in the Mathematical Sciences) are strongly supported. Through the MDP, participants are rooted in the Agency community of mathematicians and mathematical statisticians. Also they are given the opportunity to explore a wide variety of problem sets. At the end of the program, graduates choose their first assignment from any open positions at the Agency.
