Department Overview
 

Clinical Data Sciences is the function that manages the collection of clinical trial data and prepares it so it can be used for analysis to support a regulatory submission. It combines the disciplines of medical and scientific knowledge with IT skills including database design and system validation.

The CDS department is responsible for data management within Pfizer and ensures all clinical data is collected and managed to Good Clinical Practice and all associated regulations. CDS’s purpose is to deliver the right data, with integrity, on time, every time.

What can I achieve and what will I be responsible for whilst completing a placement at Pfizer?

As part of the Clinical Data Sciences group, an integral delivery unit within the Global Biometrics and Data Management (GBDM) organization, the Junior Data Manager is accountable for timely and high quality data review and query management of clinical data supporting the Pfizer portfolio.  The Junior Data Manager executes on key data management deliverables used to collect, review, monitor, and ensure the integrity of clinical data..

Other tasks will include:

•            Participate in CDS activities including data review and query management, ensures quality database design including documentation, testing, validation, and implementation of clinical data collection tools, CRF and non-CRF, using an electronic data capture (EDC) system and/or other data collection systems. 

•            Assist with work carried out in accordance with applicable SOPs and working practices.

•            Assist with the required study-specific CDS documents in the Trial Master File (TMF) are of high quality and are filed contemporaneously to support downstream inspection and submission readiness activities.

•            Assist with operational excellence in partnership with Data Manager and CDS for application of standards, data acquisition, proactive data review and query management, data cleaning, e-data processing, data access and visualization, DM metrics reporting, database release, and submission related activities.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Type of person we are looking for, in relation to ‘Skills’, ‘Knowledge’ and ‘Motivation’:

• Completing placement as part of University Degree either through Year In Industry/Industrial Placement or Gap Year (Health Sciences experience or Technology degree preferred)
• Has fundamental knowledge of clinical development and pharmaceuticals as a regulated industry
• Has fundamental knowledge of healthcare regulatory authorities (e.g. FDA, Health Canada)
• Ability to learn clinical data management processes and principles in area of responsibility.
• Demonstrates required verbal and written communication skills including ability to communicate remotely
• Minimum 0-2 years Data Management university experience required
• Capable to learn technical data systems
• Capable to learn how to use data visualization tools (e.g. Spotfire,  J-Review)
• Awareness of MedDRA/WHO-Drug preferred
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite of tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)

Job Description: Senior Administrative Assistant

Role Summary

The candidate will be responsible for day-to-day administrative and business support to assigned managers and colleagues, helping our staff focus on advancing Pfizer Vaccines R&D portfolio. This role requires interfacing with multiple stakeholders at all levels of research and development organizations internally and at times externally.  The candidate will partner with other administrative staff members in a team-oriented approach including providing backup coverage as appropriate.

Role Responsibilities

Avantor is looking for a Laboratory Technician, to join our laboratory-based team in Macclesfield, on a full-time, permanent basis.

The Laboratory Technician role is an entry level position, which underpins the laboratory support function. This role delivers the key lab support services to our customers, which allows them to focus on the science and progress their projects.

The role will typically include stock and waste management, equipment support services and standard laboratory tasks aligned to those laboratories.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Pharma Materials Manager to join team, at our client’s site in Macclesfield. You will take ownership of managing a GMP warehouse, shipping, and sample dispatch service operations, as well as line managing team of 8-10 associates.

You’ll be leading and mentoring a team of 8-10 associates, who are based across two business areas: GMP High Bay Warehouse – highly regulated, automated warehouse, and Sample Dispatch Unit – receiving samples from scientists and sending them to recipients all over the world. • 3 – 5 years of line management responsibility

• Exposure to multiple areas of actuarial work including financial reporting, pricing, IFRS17, modelling, actuarial project work and an understanding of your role in the context of a wider organisation
• Progressing with actuarial exams, although we will also consider those who have experience but have stopped taking actuarial exams
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in a format and approach appropriate to the receiving stakeholders
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong IT skills, especially Microsoft Excel. Experience in modelling platforms or programming languages is beneficial.

We are on the lookout for a Senior Director, Global Regulatory Science (GRS) – Project Resilience Lead, who will play a pivotal role in spearheading the regulatory strategy and coordination of execution for Project Resilience across global sites such as the UK, Canada, Australia, and more. This vital position, based in Harwell, UK, is central to our mission of enhancing the production capabilities and distribution of mRNA-based therapeutics and vaccines. By joining us, you will be a key figure in bolstering the resilience of healthcare systems and ensuring direct access to rapid pandemic response capabilities.

Here's What You’ll Do:

Within 3 Months, You Will…

• Develop and contribute to the consolidated regulatory deliverables plan for Project Resilience, integrating complex project facets into a cohesive strategy.

• Initiate close collaboration with Country Regulatory Leads, ensuring the robustness and timeliness of regulatory plans and activities across various international markets.

• Begin diligently maintaining the regulatory progress on the Project Resilience Global Score Card, ensuring all milestones and deliverables are accurately tracked and reported.

Within 6 Months, You Will…

• Effectively communicate and present to management all relevant regulatory updates, requests, risks, and potential delays, ensuring transparent and timely information flow.

• Identify and assess Project Resilience regulatory risks, coordinate and prepare risk registers, and devise corresponding mitigation plans, playing a key role in proactive risk management.

• Support the execution of specific Project Resilience GRS deliverables such as coordinating Health Authority interactions, overseeing submission planning and approval tracking, and participating in cross-functional projects involving Quality, Manufacturing, and Site Leadership.

Within 12 Months, You Will…

• Provide critical timeline updates to the GRS Leadership Team, proactively raising Project Resilience topics for endorsement, discussion, or decision, ensuring strategic alignment at all levels.

• Prepare and deliver effective and influential communications and presentations tailored for both external and internal audiences, showcasing your strong communication acumen.

• Work closely with the Executive Director of GRS Reg-CMC, the respective Resilience country affiliate Regulatory Heads, and facilitate meetings with government and regulatory officials in the Resilience countries, demonstrating leadership and diplomatic skills.

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:

• Degree in Life Sciences or related discipline, advanced degree preferred (PharmD, MSc, PhD).

• 12+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry; 8+ years of experience in Global Regulatory CMC strategy.

• Good knowledge of current international regulations related to GMP manufacturing, licensing and overall quality principles for innovative medicines, including mRNA technology and gene therapy requirements.

• Experience and good understanding of Module 3 content of regulatory submissions.

• Experience with manufacturing process tech transfers and registration of new manufacturing sites.

• Strong project management and analytical skills.

• Ability to bring together various stakeholders and to reconcile different perspectives and priorities.

• Ability to work independently to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

• Self-starter with a high level of sense of accountability and ownership on assigned projects.

• Ability to effectively collaborate in a dynamic, cross-functional matrix environment to drive meeting each program’s critical regulatory milestones.

• Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written) and willingness to share knowledge and lessons learned.
