This is a super exciting opportunity to join one of our partnership schools for two terms from January 2025 to July 2025 as a teacher of Science. This school is a large school based in Stoke-on-Trent, and they are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of their students and young people. This role will commence in January 2025 and will run through for two terms, covering maternity leave.

Your new role
Our partner school is looking for an ambitious and passionate teacher of Science who will ensure the needs of their pupils are at the forefront. It's about ensuring that every pupil, whatever their level of ability, enjoys the support they need to achieve exceptional results. What you will be doing as a Research Engineer/Scientist

- First and foremost, Research, Development and Innovation.
- Providing an innovative outlook and a natural curiosity for wastewater treatment technologies and solutions.
- Scanning the horizon for new technologies or strategies for solving some of the most significant challenges in the water sector.
- Getting Research, Development, and Innovation projects off the ground while making significant technical contributions to others.

- Analysing data (preferably using Python, MATLAB or similar) and logging information to produce robust results, conclusions, and recommendations for business strategy and beyond.

This Hybrid role is based at Reading Sewage Treatment Works. However, depending on project requirements, the successful candidate should attend the office and other Thames Water sites.

36 hours a week, Monday to Friday.

- Hold a degree in science or engineering or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
- Background in industry experience in a related discipline.
- Have relevant technical knowledge of the industry, such as utilities.

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Clacton County High School for a qualified teacher of Science to join an excellent team of colleagues within the Science faculty.

Our school has its own sixth form college, Sigma Sixth, with a campus in Tendring located within a short drive away drive from the school.Although, based at a different site it is very much part of the mainstream school and, for the right candidate, there is the possibility of teaching up to key stage 5 if appropriate.

What skills and experience we're looking for

The successful candidate will:

• Provide strategic leadership of the provision of science for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) across the school in order to ensure that these students make excellent progress
• Monitor and evaluate the development of learning and teaching strategies for students with challenging behaviour and SEN, ensuring you recognise and fulfil your statutory responsibilities to pupils with SEN and understand the importance of taking ownership of additional provision and the progress children (with SEN) make in their class/teaching group.
• Disseminate good practice in challenging behaviour and SEN across the school.
• Identify resources needed to meet the needs of pupils with challenging behaviour and SEN and advise the Head of Centre of priorities for expenditure.

The science team comprises nine full-time and four part-time science specialist teachers with responsibility for teaching Years 7 to 13. The department is led by the Director of Science, assisted by the Heads of Biology, Chemistry and Physics. There are 12 dedicated laboratories, 3 of which are part of a new build with an additional classroom space in the new block. The standard of equipment and resources is very high. All full-time members of the department have lessons timetabled in their own laboratory and work with a dedicated technician. There are five part-time technicians.
