Our Support Workers work in a variety of settings including community-based services (often supporting people in their own homes) to our Treatment & Recovery Centres.
One thing that is common across all of our services is a focus on personalised support and tailoring our services to the needs and aspirations of the people we support with a diverse range of care needs (including Learning Disabilities, Physical Disabilities, Mental Health Concerns, Complex Care, Substance Misuse issues to name a few).

We don’t ask for any other relevant training or a previous career in care as full training will be provided – you just need a willingness to learn and develop.
Your pay - our Support Workers receive a rate of £11.00 per hour for all worked hours. Once you are successful for a role with us, full details of your pay will be included in your written offer.

Where is this vacancy based?
This vacancy is based in St Helens.
Who do you support?
We support 1 male here, who has learning disabilities, Autism and limited verbal communication. He can present challenging behaviours if he's having a bad day.
Where do they live?
The property is a 4 bedroom detached home with a large private garden and off road parking.
What would a typical shift be like?
Shifts are usually 15 hours and they begin with supporting with prepping his bath and clothing for personal care, which can begin anytime after 7 am. Once personal care routine is complete (verbal prompts from staff ), support will be needed with meal prep for breakfast, (1x staff will prep medication for administration during this time) once person supported has had medication, he may complete some gardening if in the summer with one member of staff. Our person supported has 3 staff on daily for 15 hrs, 2 sleeps and 1 waking night staff each evening. Then it will be time to drive out in his mobility car, and complete any tasks whilst out e.g. food shopping, purchase any items needed, or attend any health appointments. He enjoys meals out at his local pub at least once a week.
What activities do the people that we support at this property like to do?
Meals out to the pub or chippy. He enjoys drives out in his car. Gardening, watching Football or Rugby. Most importantly he loves spending time with his Mum and Dad, and chatting with parents on the phone.
Are there any skills or interests that a candidate could have that would be great to use to support this service?
Someone who enjoys meals out to the pub or chippy. Someone drives and enjoys going out in car. Someone who enjoys gardening. Also he would like to be supported by someone who likes watching Football or Rugby.
What is the team here or is it lone-working?
You will work along side 2 other staff, shifts are currently long days with more days off and sleep in duty shift including one wake night shift each week. PWS is 3:1 support at home and out in the community.
What are your shift patterns?
7 am - 10 pm, 10 pm - 7 am sleep in & 10 pm - 7 am waking night
