Role Summary
As the Supply Chain Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the supply chain function, including control of sourcing, planning, purchasing, including the logistics and shipping teams plus our customer facing teams.
Reporting to the General Manager, the main remit for this role is to lead the Supply Chain activities of the business, ensuring operational needs are met, considering the price, quality and delivery whilst ensuring continuity of supply and best practice.
Key Accountabilities Include:
- You will work in close collaboration with the Global Supply Chain team to ensure alignment with strategies and support when required.
- Lead, enhance and develop all aspects of the two manufacturing units supply chain performance; providing strategic insight to the senior leadership team and other key stakeholders as required.
- Drive environmental and sustainability improvements; identify how Supply Chain will contribute to the success of the One Planet strategy, developing an implementation plan to ensure its achievement.
- In collaboration with the Head of Operations, support the implementation of the Manufacturing Excellence Framework, along with the processes and procedures to drive improvements in business performance and continuous improvement.
- Build effective operational relationships both internally and externally, with customers and suppliers to affect high levels of collaboration and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure the right levels of inventory are established, maintained, and flexed to meet current and future operational/project needs.
- Instill accountability throughout the Supply Chain mitigating risk whilst always striving for cost effective value for money solutions.
- Ensure functional excellence through best practice, and effective communication.
- Develop future Supply Chain strategies.
- Lead and improve supplier performance in terms of Service Level, Lead Time, Lot Size, cost, stock level, etc.
- Establish effective escalation processes, ensuring accountability for responses that are time bound and effective.
Skills/Experience
- Demonstrable experience of working in a Supply Chain role as part of a senior leadership team.
- Any experience of working within supply chain in a manufacturing environment is advantageous although not essential.
- Experience of managing and developing teams.
- Experience of working in a matrix environment.
- Highly skilled at building and maintaining effective and productive relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers.
- Highly developed problem solving, process improvement and organisational skills.
- Commercially and financially astute with strong negotiation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Analytical and the ability to interpret data to provide strategic and tactical solutions.
- A problem solver with a positive mindset, decisive and able to identify and deliver priorities.
- Educated to Degree level in a business or engineering related discipline and/or equivalent experience.
- CIPS qualified to a minimum of level 5 or equivalent.
