Driver - Responsibilities
The work scope for the above job title is as but not limited to the following:
1 The main task of the Driver is to drive the Company lorry to pick up workers, to or from site, office and dormitory etc.
1.1 The Driver must drive the vehicles to the required work sites punctually.
1.2 The Driver must follow the schedule or ad-hoc obtained from the Supervisors and Co-ordinator. The Driver must inform the parties involved if there are any clashes in schedule before proceeding.
1.3 The Driver must inform the Supervisors and Co-ordinator as soon as possible if he is delayed in his schedule. This will enable them to plan their resources efficiently.
1.4 Aside from driving the workers to site, rest of the time will be to support office courier needs.
2 Usage of Company vehicles
2.1 The Driver is to switch off the ignition completely and remove the key when the vehicle is parked and not in use. The Driver must not leave the vehicle in idle mode while waiting.
2.2 The Driver must understand that the Company’s vehicles and attached cash cards are solely to be for Company use. Otherwise, costs will not be reimbursed.
3 Safety
3.1 The Driver must drive and operate the vehicles in a safe manner in accordance to local laws.
3.2 If there are loads on the vehicles, the Driver must ensure the loads are properly secured in accordance with local laws and regulations.
3.3 The Driver must inform the Director or PIC immediately that he is involved in an accident while driving or operating the vehicle. This includes causing damage to third party property.
3.4 The Driver should understand that if the accident is caused by the Driver’s negligence, the Company is entitled to pursue part or all of the claims from him.
3.5 The Driver should also understand if he incurs any traffic offences due to his own negligence, the Company is entitled to pursue part or all of the claims from him.
4 Servicing and Maintenance
4.1 The Driver is to inform the Company if any of the vehicles are unsafe to operate and require repairs. The Driver must not operate the vehicles in such situation.
4.2 The Driver will drive the vehicle to the Company appointed workshop for servicing and maintenance. The Driver will also pick up the vehicle when servicing and maintenance is completed.
4.3 The Driver will drive the vehicles to Inspection Centres as required.
The above is an overview of the work scope and responsibilities of a Driver employed by the Company. It is by no means an exhaustive list. There may be other scope and responsibilities deemed normal by the industry which by default will be included in this Appendix.
Schedule:
Day shift: 5.5 days per week
Requirement:
1. Minimum Class 3 Singapore Driver's license
2. Familiar with the marine industry procedures
3. Good driving track record
4. Familiarity with Singapore roads and ERP time
5. This job may require some late work. OT allowance will be given.
6. Fit and in good health
