What you'll be doing;

• Driving to planned collection locations and loading into the vehicle
  
• Complete daily checks of the vehicle and use the onboard technology to complete work notes
  
• Comply with all traffic laws and legislation and ensure their work environment is safe and clean at all times.
  

What we're looking for;

• Minimum Class 2 (Cat C) Licence
  
• An up-to-date CPC / DIGI card.
  
• Hooklift / RCV experience in the Waste Industry desirable not essential

Earn up to £46,361 (plus overtime) as one of our HGV Class 1 Drivers. (AM shifts) Hull, £42,861 basic plus £2,500 retention bonus
(split quarterly), plus £225 per day overtime rate, plus £1,000 per year bump bonus. Plus a whole range of additional perks,

The role of a Driver for Heron Foods is divided into 2 areas; professional standards of driving along with the loading and
unloading of deliveries meaning it’s more physical than most Driver jobs. But because we value our hardworking Drivers, we provide

within your normal working hours.

Tasks and Responsibilities of the HGV Class 1 Driver include

* Making multi drop deliveries and assisting in the unloading of products and cages into stores
* Collecting stock and delivering to site
* Collection of empty pallets, steel and cardboard from stores and returning to the distribution centre
* Completion of daily vehicle checks and maintaining working order of company vehicles and any equipment on-board
* Reporting of any vehicle damage or faults



Successful HGV Class 1 Drivers will have the following

* Full and current Class 1 C+E driving license
* Must hold a DIGI tacho card
* Good knowledge of driving laws and regulations
* Able to communicate and clearly follow written and verbal instructions, able to lift and manoeuvre medium to heavy loads

The role
As a Vehicle Electrician, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. With your skills and experience, you'll be undertaking the servicing, repair, maintenance and overhaul of vehicles and electrical equipment, including diagnostic and inspection duties. You'll also be carrying out equipment examination to meet production requirements.

Day to day, you'll carry out the inspection, servicing, repair and overhaul of vehicles, assemblies, electrical and general equipment including diagnostic duties, manufacture miscellaneous items and carry out examination tasks to meet production needs. You may also carry out similar duties to occasional civilian vehicles and mechanic equipment.

• Carry out work to the required standard and specification as detailed on the job card in accordance with the customer requirements, current regulations, local instructions, processes and other approved technical publications
• Diagnose, inspect and assess vehicles and associated mechanical or electrical equipment in line with skills and competency
• Ensure all job transactions are accurately recorded and carried out in accordance with current ERP processes and that work completed and time taken to complete the job is submitted daily to the department or section Supervisor
• Completion of vehicle and equipment documentation and test certificates or reports to current standards
• Ensure stores and equipment issued to job are used for their correct purpose and un-used or new faulty material is returned to the section or department Supervisor as soon as it is identified

This position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time.

This role is full time 37-hours per week and will be based at our Leconfield site.

Essential experience of the Vehicle Electrician:

• Previous experience within similar role
• Hydraulics experience
• Dealership / Local Garage experience
• A real team player with the ability to adapt and build rapport

Qualifications for the Vehicle Electrician:

• Must have completed recognised Military or Civilian training in the relevant trade discipline or a recognised accredited Apprenticeship in relevant discipline.

Attained at least one of the following minimum academic qualifications:

• City and Guilds Level 1, 2 & 3 (in the relevant trade discipline)
• ONC (in the relevant trade discipline)
• NVQ Level 3 (in the relevant trade discipline
