1. To be responsible for the management of the Supply Chain Function Supply Chain Supervisors and Supply Chain Coordinators. 2. To organise and prioritise the workloads of the Supply Chain team. Managing these conflicting demands efficiently and undertaking judgements on correct level of resource required. 3. Manage departmental rotas and ensure all duties are covered in a timely manner countywide. 4. Responsible for appraisals, performance and absence management. 5. Responsible for recruitment activity for the Supply Chain function. 6. Identify training needs for the staff within the Supply Chain function and act as a mentor and coach when required. 7. Conduct all Supply Chain duties that include booking in deliveries, deliver goods to the correct location and putting away consumable stock items. 8. To undertake activities regarding stock movement analysis and re-order level assessment in conjunction with Trust wide clinical areas requirements. 9. Implement a programme of Supply Chain reviews to be undertaken with all wards and departments Trust wide every 6 months and to ensure all necessary paperwork is filed correctly. 10. To deliver goods to their correct end destination and obtain a signed delivery note where applicable. 11. Responsibility to keep up to date with product knowledge in order to provide advice and support to Trust wide Requistioners. 12. Responsible for ordering products using the Inventory Management and Trust systems, ensuring accuracy of quantities and prices in line with stock levels, and ensuring stock is cross-charged correctly through Finance. 13. To monitor and control replenishment levels for all ward areas Trust wide. To order and maintain optimum stock levels and replenish via economic ordering quantities and distribute out to all clinical areas. Take responsibility for all minimum and maximum top up levels by setting pre-approved limits and taking a fair judgement on appropriate expenditure. 14. Responsible for ensuring the Supply Chain team move and distribute materials using the appropriate manual handling equipment including trucks, trolleys and cages whilst observing Health and Safety Procedures at all times. Responsible for ensuring Health and Safety assessments are conducted regularly and all manual handling equipment including trucks, trolleys and cages are in a safe working order. 15. Responsible for annual stock take duties. 16. To be responsible for implementing and maintaining systems for filing of delivery notes and all associated paperwork. 17. To participate in training sessions to assist in personal and departmental development. 18. To train, educate and give guidance on ordering procedures to Trust personnel in the light of changing circumstances. 19. Responsible for monitoring contract compliance and advise Requistioners on the most efficient ordering procedures whilst adhering to Trust policies. 20. Arranging cover and relief duties at other locations to ensure the service runs efficiently. 21. Deal with queries in a professional and efficient manner, treating customers as you would wish to be treated and promoting a get it right first time ethos. 22. Provide advice and information by acting on knowledge gained and ensuring safe medical stock levels are maintained Trust wide. 23. To use all reporting programmes to interrogate systems for product analysis and provide usage data for budget holders. 24. Be responsible for the day to day security of all goods, equipment and materials within the Supply Chain working environment. 25. Co-Ordinate the response to Medical Device Notices and analyse spend data to identify where products have been purchased and ensure appropriate recall action is taken with immediate effect. 26. To actively contribute to the efficiency of the function by embracing the core values of the Departmental and National Strategies. To provide the level of service and performance to meet the departmental and National objectives as defined by the Director of Procurement & Supply Chain and Head of Supply Chain. This requires being flexible in approach to an ever changing, demanding and dynamic NHS working environment. 27. Work with the Procurement team and co-ordinate new product ranges as part of the Trusts savings work plan.
