Applicants must be resident on the Island of Shapinsay.
We are looking for a part-time Driver/Roadworker to join our Roads and Grounds Operations team.
You will be a member of a service concerned with a variety of roads and municipal related activities including emergency callout and Winter Service activities.
The role will see you working either individually or as part of a team to ensure the efficient operation of the service.
The successful applicant must have a positive approach to health and safety and will require a flexible attitude to work with a willingness to undertake a variety of duties associated with roads maintenance and waste services. Training in the use of specialist equipment will be given.
This post requires participation in a standby duty rota for which additional allowances will be paid.
A full Class C driving licence is essential and a Driver CPC is desirable for this post.
An SVQ2 in a Construction, engineering or relevant subject and a HAUC (Streetworks) Operatives qualification are desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
This post is subject to Basic Disclosure Scotland clearance.
