The Pharmacy Department is a forward thinking and progressive department seeking to expand our current team as we develop a patient focused, modern hospital pharmacy service to the Trust. We have an active training programme and a proven track record in staff development.
In this exciting new post, we are looking to recruit a self- motivated and enthusiastic pharmacy professional who has great initiative, flair and is committed to excellence. The successful applicant will need to be committed to self- development, have strong attention to detail with excellent distribution and organisational skills who is able to work to tight timescales and lead a small team. Your support is vital to the continuing expansions of our patient focused pharmacy services.
The work is varied and will include:
• Deputising for the Pharmacy Distribution Manager to cover in their absence.
• Work with pharmacists to optimise ward stock lists and identify opportunities to reduce wastage and generate savings.
• Liaise with the purchasing team to source alternate suppliers.
• Regularly review stock levels using ADC reporting to determine which levels require modification.
• To participate in the distribution service for stock drugs and vaccines to wards and departments, including outside units.

DIMENSIONS OF JOB:
Deputises for the Distribution Manager and manages stock shortages ensuring a supply is maintained or investigated in liaison with ward pharmacists, pharmacy procurement, pharmacy IT data analysts and senior managers.
PURPOSE OF JOB:
To deputise for the Pharmacy Distribution Manager and provide day to day leadership for the operation of the distribution of medicines to wards and departments.
To manage changes to ward stock lists, including Omnicell and Epic, to ensure stock supply is maintained during shortages/changes in pack sizes/changes to stock lists and to communicate effectively to pharmacy staff on any issues that arise in respect to ward to-follows and the resolution of stock shortages, including discrepancies or anomalies on the pharmacy computer system.
