The role we are offering you:

We are seeking an experienced leader to strengthen our Contracts team in Ottawa or Montreal.  In this position, you will be responsible to oversee the contract management function for new business opportunities and current programs.  This individual will be a key member of the Canadian Defense and Security team and lead a team of contract managers and negotiators in multiple locations, ensuring alignment with global policy and legal compliance.  We are looking for a professional with inherent leadership qualities, and the attention necessary to ensure contractual obligations are met.  You must have solid communication, analytical and people management skills. Are you ready to:

• Oversee Contract Management of bids, proposals, and in-execution programs.

• Manage the negotiations of contracts.

• Develop, plan, and implement commercial plans and strategies.

• Providing leadership, direction, and guidance to sales, capture managers, and program managers.

• Manage existing client, contractor, and other stakeholder relationships.

• Establish and manage long-term relationships with new contractors and other stakeholders.

• Track, measure, and analyze commercial metrics.

• Coordinate with other departments to facilitate contract management.

• Assist in the setting of financial targets and the development of program budgets.

Our ideal candidate has:

• 10 years in a similar role and business complexity.

• Previous experience working for a business with the Government of Canada as a client or in the aviation industry. Having a background in both environments would be an asset.

• Extensive experience in managing customers, suppliers and/or subcontractors in complex programs.

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

• Strong leadership, communications, interpersonal, decision-making, judgment, and problem-solving skills.

• Strong business acumen.

• Be able to hold a Government of Canada Security Clearance (Secret level).

• Be able to hold Government of Canada site/information access certifications, including accessing Protected “B” information, Controlled Goods Clearance, and ITAR Clearance.

• Eligible to work in Canada.

• Strong oral and written English language capabilities.

• Fluency in French would be an asset.

Role and Responsibilities

At the CAE Toronto Aviation Training centre, your will join a dynamic team, part of an expending training centre network.
Working night shift with the oppurtunity to move to rotating shifts and irregular hours to cover a 24hr/7day operation.
Reporting to the simulator maintenance supervisor, you will perform preventive and corrective maintenance as well as pre-flight , post flight checks and customer de-briefings on full flight simulators

You must be able to work on your own as part of a dynamic team located at the CAE Toronto Aviation Training Centre.
Strong analytical troubleshooting skills are a necessity.  The ideal candidate will be a team player and a self-starter, with a professional attitude, which is an imperative while dealing with customers, both internal and external (daily customer interaction).
PC/IT administration skills is desired.  Knowledge of Microsoft Office, UNIX OS environment.  Ability to adapt rapidly to new envionments and learn quickly

Job Summary

In CAE Defense & Security (D&S), Canada, the Manager Quality Assurance, Environment and Health and Safety (QEHS) is responsible for planning and ensuring the QEHS-Management System (MS) meets the ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 requirements; managing the Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety Policy and Objectives; implementing and maintaining all processes needed for the QEHS-MS; and maintaining the integrity of the QEHS-MS, when changes are made. As a result, the incumbent is an adept leader with people management skills coupled with strong business acumen and communication skills. The incumbent will have direct responsibilities for a team involved in these activities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Plan and ensure the QEHS-Management System (MS) meets the ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 requirements

• Ensure that Quality Policy and Quality Objectives, and the EHS policies are communicated and met

• Ensure that all processes needed for the QEHS-MS are implemented, evaluated, maintained, reported on and all applicable personnel trained

• Ensure that all process metrics and those required at the Corporate, D&S, and D&S Canada level are tracked and reported on

• Represent management on all Quality and EHS issues with internal and external customers, with the responsibility to resolve them

• Report to senior management on QEHS-MS effectiveness and any needed improvements

• Conduct site visits on a regular basis, providing guidance, coaching and support to EH&S team members and site management.

• Coordinate actions to improve the environmental footprint and supports carbon emissions reduction and climate change mitigation measures.

• Continuously reviews risk and hazard identification process and risk analysis. Assist management teams in developing ways to mitigate or avoid adverse risks. 

Requirements

• Relevant University or College degree. post Graduate Degree (desirable) in technical field or an equivalent combination of education and experience

• 10 year experience in a quality related environment with a minimum of ten years of industry related experience, including a minimum of five years management experience formally coordinating the activity of others

• Accredited Quality Assurance / Auditor course completion diplomas

• Knowledge of Quality Management Standards (ISO9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, etc)

• Ability to work with and lead multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with remote groups

• Ability to work across different organizational levels

• Excellent oral and written communication skills including presentations to different organizational levels

• Experience as a Quality and/or EHS Manager in a similar environment or industry is preferable

• Previous experience in defining and implementing process improvement initiatives

• Good knowledge of MS Project, Visio, Power Point, Excel and Word (Office)

• Software development and/or Systems Engineering related background and experience is a must

• Excellent problem-solving ability as well as long and short term strategic planning skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. French is an asset

• Excellent motivating, guiding and steering abilities

Tâches & Responsabilités Principales:

• Planifier et garantir que le système de gestion (SG) de la QESS répond aux exigences des normes ISO 9001, ISO 14001 et ISO 45001.

• Veiller à ce que la politique et les objectifs de qualité, ainsi que les politiques en matière d’ESS soient communiqués et respectés.

• Veiller à ce que tous les processus nécessaires au SG de la QESS soient mis en œuvre, évalués, maintenus, fassent l’objet de rapports et que l’ensemble du personnel concerné soit formé.

• Veiller à ce que toutes les mesures du processus et celles requises au niveau de l’entreprise, de D-S et de D-S Canada fassent l’objet d’un suivi et d’un rapport.

• Représenter la direction pour toutes les questions relatives à la Qualité et à l’ESS auprès des clients internes et externes, avec la responsabilité de les résoudre.

• Rendre compte à la haute direction de l’efficacité du SG de la QESS et de toute amélioration nécessaire.

• Effectuer régulièrement des visites de sites, en fournissant des conseils, un accompagnement et un soutien aux membres de l’équipe d’ESS et à la direction du site.

• Coordonner les actions visant à améliorer l’empreinte environnementale et soutenir les mesures de réduction des émissions de carbone et d’atténuation du changement climatique.

• Passer continuellement en revue le processus de détermination des risques et des dangers et l’analyse des risques. Aider les équipes de direction à trouver des moyens d’atténuer ou d’éviter les risques. 

Exigences

• Diplôme universitaire ou collégial pertinent. Diplôme d’études supérieures (souhaitable) dans un domaine technique ou une combinaison équivalente d’études et d’expérience.

• Dix ans d’expérience dans un environnement lié à la qualité avec un minimum de dix ans d’expérience dans l’industrie, y compris un minimum de cinq ans d’expérience en gestion dans la coordination officielle des activités d’autres personnes.

• Diplômes attestant l’achèvement de cours accrédités en assurance qualité ou en vérification de la qualité.

• Connaissance des normes de gestion de la qualité (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, etc.).

• Capacité à travailler avec des équipes multidisciplinaires et à les diriger ainsi qu’à collaborer avec des groupes éloignés.

• Capacité à travailler à différents niveaux de l’organisation.

• Excellentes aptitudes à communiquer à l’oral et à l’écrit, y compris à faire des présentations à différents niveaux de l’organisation.

• Expérience en tant que chef de service de la Qualité ou de l’ESS dans un environnement ou un secteur similaire, une préférence.

• Expérience préalable de la définition et de la mise en œuvre d’initiatives d’amélioration des processus.

• Bonne connaissance de MS Project, Visio, PowerPoint, Excel et Word (Office).

• Formation et expérience dans le domaine du développement de logiciels ou de l’ingénierie des systèmes, une exigence.

• Excellente capacité de résolution des problèmes et compétences en matière de planification stratégique à court et à long terme.
