Surgical Physician’s Assistant - Supervisor
The Surgical Physician’s Assistant delivers professional, direct patient care, including problem evaluation and management under the direction of a supervising surgeon within the Department.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Recruitment, hiring, orientation of APPs Assessing competency of APPs Create and maintain schedule; approve time in Kronos Assist in operative cases
Manage initial, follow-up and post-op patients in the practice location Perform inpatient rounding, including seeing initial consultations and daily follow-up visits in the hospital setting
Maintains outpatient and inpatient medical records of all patients seen
Maintains regular communications with referring physicians to assure smooth transition of patients back to their primary care
Education, Licensure, and Certification Required:
The position requires successful completion of an Accredited Physician Assistant program, national certification through NCCPA and registration within New York State.
