ROLE SUMMARY
The Enterprise Platforms & Security (EP&S) organization delivers the following capabilities for Pfizer. Business application platforms supporting Pfizer’s enterprise application and critical business processes. Infrastructure allowing business traffic to travel where it needs to go, internally and externally, along with the appropriate access controls. EP&S secures Pfizer's most important information assets through world class controls and protections and enables Pfizer's business results by making security an enabler and not a roadblock to achieving business results.
The Digital Hosting Solutions (DHS) team represents the Digital Center of Excellence (CoE) for cloud infrastructure capabilities, providing foundational public and private cloud services to all business lines, globally across Pfizer. DHS is a high-performing team, focused on delivering secure, scalable, compliant, operationally viable, and cost-effective cloud solutions. The FinOps business analyst must be able operate independently with the ability to influence and coalesce with solution teams across the organization to manage cloud spend and drive effective optimization.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
The FinOps Analyst role will work within the FinOps product domain within DHS. This role will collaborate closely with the FinOps product owner, engineering team, and cloud consumers to manage and optimize Pfizer’s cloud environments. Key aspects of this role include identifying areas of cloud waste, improving cloud tagging hygiene, and working with cloud consumers on best practices. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in cloud, ability to translate consumption to costs, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Drive FinOps product initiatives that include self-service capabilities for cost visibility and optimization activities.
- Maintain and enhance the presentation and reporting layer of the foundational FinOps tooling.
- Work collaboratively with external parties including cloud suppliers (e.g. AWS) and Pfizer DHS strategic suppliers as part of reporting and optimization activities.
- Partner with the DHS Engineering Practice to prioritize FinOps automation activities that add the most value to the overall Platform.
- Collaborate with Product Owners and customers on cloud consumption models, assist in driving down unit rate costs, and aide teams in forecasting spend.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, with experience utilizing cloud technologies.
- 3+ years of cloud-specific experience with Amazon Web Services; demonstrated experience with AWS Cost Candidates must be highly motivated and capable of working independently.
- Experience with AWS Quicksight reporting capabilities
- 1+ years of experience in managing IT budgets, developing forecasts, and billing/invoicing activities
- Disciplined in general financial management
- Ability to interpret and understand utilization metrics of cloud-based resources
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Ability to adapt to changing requirements and constraints
- Ability to use creative thinking and advanced problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Working knowledge of Atlassian Confluence and Jira is desired.
- Demonstrated experience in an agile work environment possessing qualities such as a collaborative mindset, adaptability to change, and a proactive problem-solving approach.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Certifications in AWS, Azure, or GCP, such as Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or Cloud Engineer.
- Knowledge of cost control and/or governance for cloud infrastructure and application development.
- Understanding of regulatory compliance and security standards in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
- Prior experience in leading or mentoring a team of software engineers.
