In Ireland, Abbott employs over 6,000 people across ten sites. We currently have six manufacturing facilities located in Clonmel, Cootehill, Donegal, Longford and Sligo and a third-party manufacturing management operation in Sligo. MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE:
- Assist the managers to supervise the progress across a range of key projects.
- Define project resources, performance reviews and post implementation evaluations.
- Take ownership of the successful implementation of all projects that collectively comprise a program.
- Manage the work of project managers.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads/supervises a team of 2 or more professionals typically without budget or hire/fire authority.
- Focuses on mentoring, coaching, and coordination.
- Plans, directs, creates and communicates clinical study time-lines.
- Gathers input from cross-functional teams and creates plans that help the team produce deliverables on schedule.
- Ensures consistency of clinical study and processes across clinical trials.
- Oversees and resolves operational aspects of clinical trials in conjunction with project teams and in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP), good clinical practice (GCP) and specific country regulations such as site and vendor selection, preparing clinical trial budgets.
- Ensures study is conducted within clinical trial protocols.
- Monitors progress and follows up with team members and line managers when issues develop.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree (preferably in Polymer Engineering, Polymer science) or a closely related discipline is desired) or equivalent technical experience and demonstrated competence required; additional post-graduate education may contribute toward the desired years of experience.
- Significant engineering and / or operational experience to develop the competence required to meet the skills and responsibilities of the position.
- Strong technical knowledge and application of concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Ability or aptitude to work on problems that are complex in scope where analysis of situations or data involves multiple competing factors.
- Ability to form and develop interpersonal, professional relationships; display socially and professionally appropriate behavior.
- Ability to work independently and in groups; ability to work cross-functionally.
- Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills; critical-thinking skills.
