This is a key management role within the SSGA Strategic Partner Oversight team, which is part of the Chief Operating Officer’s organization, that is responsible for ensuring quality of service providers that directly support SSGA investment processes. Candidates should have a strong understanding of “front to back” investment management and servicing processes, with specific experience focusing on fund accounting and administration requirements for registered investment products. Candidates should also have the ability to oversee governance program requirements for services provided by strategic partners of SSGA.
The role can be located at SSGA’s headquarters in Boston, MA or in the Stamford, CT office, and will collaborate with investment professionals across global investment centers. This role can be performed in a hybrid model, where you can balance work from home and office to match your needs and role requirements.
As the Fund Oversight & Governance Lead, you will:
- Establish a comprehensive understanding of the investment services provided to SSGA by strategic service providers.
- Act as the primary point for SSGA funds for: 1) Evaluation of the quality of custody and administration service provision; and 2) Escalation for resolution of issues in coordination with strategic providers.
- Be responsible for coordination of board and committee reporting regarding outsourced services supporting the investment management process.
- Present and discuss results of service provision with legal entity boards and management committees on the results.
- Work closely with SSGA professionals within Investment Management, Funds Management, and corporate functions. Interact directly with investment management professions to assess the SSGA client experience.
- Represent the Strategic Partner Oversight management team on program committees.
- Assess and drive change management processes with service provider.
- Become a member of the Strategic Partner Oversight management team.
- Participate in routine due diligence discussions.
- Coordinate and supervise ad hoc analyses and initiatives.
- Explore alternatives to current processes by seeing to find ways to be more effective and efficient.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of bachelors degree and 10-15 years of asset management industry experience
- Deep understanding of interconnectivity of aspects of the investment lifecycle, including portfolio construction, trading, data management, middle office, and custody
- Experience with management reporting and presentations to senior level governance committees
