About the job:
As a Senior Practitioner in the Adolescent Support Team in Kent, you will be a crucial part of a dynamic and dedicated team working to support and empower adolescents facing complex challenges. Your role involves providing leadership, guidance, and expertise to the team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services that promote the well-being and positive development of adolescents within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Case Management:
• Oversee and manage a caseload of complex cases involving adolescents, ensuring a holistic and child-centred approach.
• Provide expert guidance and support to team members in the assessment, planning, and intervention phases.
2. Supervision and Mentorship:
• Conduct regular supervision sessions for social workers within the Adolescent Support Team, offering mentorship, support, and opportunities for professional development.
• Encourage reflective practice within the team to promote continuous learning and improvement.
3. Multi-Agency Collaboration:
• Collaborate with professionals from various agencies, schools, and community organizations to build a robust support network for adolescents and their families.
• Establish and maintain strong working relationships with external partners to enhance the effectiveness of interventions.
4. Adolescent Mental Health:
• Specialize in understanding and addressing the mental health needs of adolescents, working collaboratively with mental health professionals and services.
• Implement trauma-informed practices to better support adolescents facing complex challenges.
5. Risk Assessment and Safeguarding:
• Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop safety plans for adolescents in challenging situations.
• Play a lead role in safeguarding processes, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions to protect the well-being of adolescents.
6. Training and Development:
• Identify training needs within the team and coordinate relevant training programs, with a focus on adolescent development, mental health, and trauma-informed practice.
• Support the continuous professional development of team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
7. Quality Assurance:
• Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure the quality and effectiveness of social work practice within the team.
• Implement measures to enhance the overall quality of service delivery, maintaining compliance with organisational standards.
8. Record Keeping and Compliance:
• Ensure accurate and up-to-date record-keeping, adhering to statutory requirements and organisational standards.
Requirements:
· 1 year of qualified Social Work experience
· DBS on the Update Service or happy to apply for one
· 5 years of satisfactory references
· Driving License with access to a vehicle
· SWE Registered
