Primary Metals and Alloys based in Qld, is seeking experienced Procurement Manager to join their friendly team of professionals on a full time and permanent basis.
The role includes but is not limited to:
Developing procurement strategies that are inventive and cost-effective.
Institute policies and procedures for collecting and reporting key metrics that will reduce overall expenses while increasing productivity
Perform cost analysis and set appropriate benchmarks
Sourcing and engaging reliable suppliers and vendors.
Negotiating contracts with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms.
Performing risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements.
Reviewing existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-going feasibility.
Building and maintaining long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers.
Approving purchase orders, organising and confirming delivery schedule of goods and services ensuring order fulfillment.
Monitoring and reviewing storage and inventory systems to meet supply requirements and control stock levels
Controlling the procurement budget and promoting a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
Overseeing and managing the IT systems that track shipments, inventory, and the supply of goods.
Preparing daily, weekly, and monthly procurement reports
Ensure adherence to all safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations
Keep abreast of changing industry trends
Ad hoc duties that may be assigned from time to time
To be considered for this role, you must have the following:
Trade qualification or equivalent
Proven experience in the same field
In-depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts, invoicing, and negotiation terms.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).
Management and leadership skills.
Machining background an advantage
Knowledge in forklift operation an advantage
Physically fit
Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks.
Highly organised and detail-oriented.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
