Start a new career now. The organisation is looking for a Fostering Support Worker to join their team in Bromsgrove, part of the Midlands Fostering Service. You will be working with an experienced team and in a culture where children are valued, respected, and listened to and involved in as many decisions as possible.
Being a Fostering Support Worker is an exciting and important role involving a range of tasks working directly with children and young people, Foster Carers, and other professionals to ensure quality outcomes for children/young people.
As the Fostering Support Worker you will be involved in participation events with their children, where you will be coordinating group work and activities within a skilled focused way as part of their agreed programme, supporting the hybrid working team in preparing the children and young people for their foster care placements, being a large part of recruitment, supporting their children with transport, able to record visits/one to one work effectively, and promoting the health and wellbeing of the children and young people.
Can you be that person that puts the children and young people in the forefront of your decisions, be able to work as a team, be flexible, being proactive, able to communicate with children and adults? Do you have experience of working with Children and Young People? Having experience of working in the fostering sector would be an advantage but not necessary. No formal social work qualifications are necessary, but an understanding of and empathy for the work required is necessary.
The Fostering Support Worker will need to be able to drive for this role and have access to a car, be flexible as you may need to work occasional evenings and weekends and be committed to therapeutic training.

Hours
This is a Full-Time role of 37 hours
You will need to be flexible for this role as you may need to work weekend & evenings

Requirements for the Fostering Support Worker
• Good written and IT skills
• Able to communicate with children, colleagues, and external customers
• Able to actively listen to others and working part of a team
• Taking lead in recruitment of applicants
• Being patient and empathy skills
• Understanding of safeguarding
• Valid Driving Licence
• Have the Right to Work in the UK
• Therapeutic direct work with children, young people and carers preferred but not essential as training given
