About the role

Working closely with the SLT you will be providing excellent administrative and customer services to a variety of stakeholders, establishing and maintaining efficient administrative systems and processes to support the effective running of the school with a focus on operational excellence and to meet the current and future needs of the school.

Responsibilities

To provide an effective, timely and confidential administration support to staff and managers as required
To ensure that relevant records and documents are kept up to date and are stored securely and confidentially at all times

Due to growth in service, we are looking for Teaching Assistants to join our team at Wetheringsett Manor School. Someone who is motivated by helping others, patient and resilient would be perfect for this role.

Wetheringsett Manor is also part of the 4-day working week trial which will be continuing next academic year. This means that staff work 80% of their time but get 100% of their salary, this is not a contractual change, but something designed to promote staff wellbeing.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for safeguarding the young people and making sure they are healthy, safe and as comfortable as possible. You will assist in their learning by offering companionship and support, whilst ensuring their physical, mental and emotional needs are met. You will be required to prepare learning materials under the supervision of the teachers and to participate in learning activities. The Teaching Assistant will also be required to liaise with parents and staff with regards to the wellbeing of the young people.

This role involves working with young people who have complex behaviour associated with their learning needs. You will be trained to deescalate these situations and put in place pro-active strategies to avoid similar situations in future.

Wetheringsett Manor School is a new independent day SEMH School for up to 42 pupils aged 11-18. Our dedicated team work together to ensure successful outcomes for pupils who often arrive at the school with a troubled view of education and life.

Wetheringsett Manor School has gone through significant refurbishment and is based in Suffolk, East Anglia and opened to pupils in November 2020. The Manor House is located in 17 acres of parkland with wooded boundaries and sits on the edge of the village of Wetheringsett. The accommodation also provides several other buildings including a converted stable block, a cottage and two industrial units.

About the role

You will be delivering inclusive, responsive and innovative teaching and learning within the curriculum Mathematics. You will constantly strive to produce outstanding/good teaching and always pushing to ensure that all learners succeed. Under the reasonable direction of the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, carry out the professional duties of a schoolteacher as set out in the current School policies.

You will teach in accordance with the ethos, organisation and policies of the school as a fully committed member of the teaching team and as detailed in the specific duties and core standards below.

Areas of Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

Be responsible for the learning and the achievement of all pupils in your classes ensuring equality of opportunity for all.
Planning and preparing long term and medium-term plans.
Knowledge of the relevant course content.
Create a purposeful learning environment.
Teaching, according to individual educational needs, the pupils assigned to the Teacher, including the setting and marking of work to be carried out by the pupils in school and elsewhere.
Teach engaging and motivating lessons informed by well-grounded expectations
of learners and designed to raise levels of attainment.
Know how to make effective personalised provision/effectively provide differentiated tasks for those they teach.
Have high expectations of young people including a commitment to ensuring that they can achieve their full educational potential and to establishing fair, respectful, trusting, supportive and constructive relationships with them.
