We are currently seeking 6 Maintenance Assistants (Handy Person) to join our client's friendly and passionate team based in Lancaster.
As a Maintenance Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, utilising your skills to ensure our facilities are in excellent condition. You will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for students living away from home.
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 17:00
Rate of Pay: £11.95
Duration of work : 15 weeks
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct general maintenance tasks, including painting, tiling, and installation/removal of stock such as white goods and mattresses
- Complete general cleaning tasks such as cleaning shower heads, removal of refuse and tidiness of campus
- Perform regular inspections of university facilities and report any issues to the Maintenance Supervisor
- Assist with regular testing of fire alarms, fire blankets, fire extinguishers and fire detectors checks, water temp monitoring and emergency lighting tests.
- Assist with basic repairs and maintenance of equipment and appliances
- Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner
- Keep an organised inventory of stock items and assist with stock ordering as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience in general maintenance, painting, and/or tiling
- Understanding of operational procedures and safe working practices of building and service systems
- Good understanding of Health & Safety
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Working Conditions:
- All PPE will be provided
- Must be able to list minimum of 23kg
