Housing Support Worker with Young People

Location: Buxton

Salary: £24,600 per annum

Job title: Peripatetic Worker

An exciting and rewarding opportunity to be a key member of the team, providing support and housing related guidance to young people within a semi-supported accommodation service in Buxton.

Purpose of the role

• This is a key post contributing to the association’s aims and objectives in delivering quality accommodation and support to young people under Ofsted regulation, ensuring young people’s rights are upheld and advocated for.
• The job holder will have acquired knowledge through on the job experience.
• Most work undertaken will be tailored to the needs of each young person presenting to our service albeit it will be of a routine nature requiring the job holder to follow delegated established practices, procedures and policies.
• Where incidents arise then job-holder will be the first point of contact and will be required act responsibly to precedents, and in compliance with appropriate housing regulations.
• There will be requirement for lone-working on-site/off-site with young people.
• The job holder will require a degree of adaptable engagement methods when supporting our young people with their emotional, practical and other support needs and will need to use translation services to ensure young people understand their rights and receive appropriate support.
• The actions and decision undertaken by the job holder will be determined predominantly by established and routine practices and processes albeit tailored to the needs of the Young Person.
• You will be expected to contribute to the maintenance and development of the Association’s values, culture and ethos.

Residential Youth Worker – Supported Accommodation - asylum seeking young people

Location: Alfreton

Salary: £23,985 per annum

Job title: Service Coordinator

A fulfilling and exciting opportunity available for a residential support worker post in our new Alfreton service.

• Adullam Homes Housing Association Ltd supports vulnerable individuals and households.

Purpose of the role

• This role is a key member of the team, providing assistance and guidance to 10 unaccompanied asylum seeking young people within a 24 hour supported accommodation setting.
• The post holder will be responsible for developing and delivering nurturing person centred support that is bespoke to suit the needs of each individual accessing the service.
• The support should assist residents in developing the skills required to settle in to a new area, overcome barriers and learn skills towards independence.
• Some young people may have experienced significant trauma in their home country and on their journey to the UK.
• The post holder must be empathetic, knowledgeable and professional in understanding the specific needs of asylum seeking adolescents transitioning into adulthood.
• Speakers of other languages would be an advantage (especially Arabic) but not essential.
• You will be expected to contribute to the maintenance and development of the Association’s values, culture and ethos.

We have an opportunity for a Service Coordinator to join our Association.

The Service Coordinator will be based at our offices in Stoke.

• The primary purpose of this project is to provide support to people with complex needs aged 18 and over, male or female.
• The post holder is responsible for developing and delivering a person centred support package that is tailor made to suit the needs of each individual accessing the service. The support should assist service users in developing the skills required to maintain independent living and either move on into permanent housing.
• You will be expected to contribute to the maintenance and development of the Association’s values, culture and ethos.
