The Role:
Support the Chief Executive Officer and Board to grow the business. This is a global role with responsibility across design, engineering, customer and stakeholder engagement.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively with the senior executive team to:
· Lead the technical design function of the business;
· Deliver hands on technical design leadership;
· Provide ongoing insights to drive commercial outcomes;
· Deliver technical designs, from concept through to engineering deliverables; and
· Deliver executive level commercial and design insights globally.
· Interface with external parties, stakeholders and clients to achieve company objectives.
Experience / Requirements:
- 20+ years as a senior / lead designer director in the automotive industry.
- Tertiary qualifications in Industrial Design and Mechanical or related Engineering
- Strong design experience with the capability to generate product design direction and proposals, as well as practical experience in large scale automotive design.
- Exceptional executive level relationship management expertise
- Outstanding communications skills, multi-lingual and fluent in English, Japanese and Portuguese.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering large projects on-time and on-budget.
- Ability to analyse, evaluate and be creative in solving complex problems including conflict, priorities and resourcing.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively represent Applied EV and productively participate in sensitive commercial negotiations.
- Experience in developing design solutions in international markets.
