This is an excellent opportunity to work in Argyll and Bute within the Council’s Regulatory Services team in a very challenging yet beautiful part of Scotland. You will undertake the full range of environmental health enforcement, including public health and food safety, and work with the team who deal with many unique challenges including its rural geographical area, large number of private water supplies and a considerable food manufacturing and export market. There will be a requirement to manage your own district workload ensuring that environmental health standards are met and be able to travel across the area to undertake operational work. This is a full time, permanent 35 hours/week post within Dunoon although consideration would be given to the base being Helensburgh.

We will provide you with varied workload in all areas of environmental health, flexible working and hybrid home/office arrangements, a relocation package (where appropriate) and a salary of £40,914 to £44,272. We also pay annual membership to the Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS) and encourage Chartered membership of REHIS through continued professional development . Our Learning Disability Support Services provide essential, innovative person centred support for individuals by helping people with learning disabilities/physical disabilities and complex conditions to access to and continue education and development, live in their own tenancies, paid employment opportunities, life skills development and meaningful activities, achieve their desired outcomes and become more involved in their communities. We also support neurodiverse adults with autism (ASD) and behavioural supports (ADHD), often transitioning from school. Autism is not a learning disability but in our rural areas, there are few supports that adults can be signposted to. Many of the people we support also have autism, so individuals are supported by our registered day location teams.

Our HSCP in house registered support locations are SCSWIS (Care Inspectorate) registered providers.

We have multi-trained teams who often support individuals who are unable to be supported by anyone else due to complex issues. However, we often identify people, who may be able to be signposted to our other community support networks or alternatives. We currently require two 35-hour Support Workers for

Service: Community Planning & Development

Requirements

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Community Planning and Development team in Argyll and Bute. The post holder will be part of a Community Development team and will contribute with a particular focus on supporting communities in Bute and Cowal, offering community capacity building support, advice on funding, developing and delivering training, supporting community engagement corporately, supporting community voice in community planning, partnership working and providing information and resources to support communities to develop action plans.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic and motivated individual with good knowledge of legislation and good practice in Community Learning and Development, good communication skills and ability to work as part of a supportive team across Argyll and Bute. You should have a relevant degree or qualification in Community Development or equivalent.

• The Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013, as amended, applies to this post.
• This post requires Protection of Vulnerable Group (PVG) Membership in relation to working with both adults and children.

Service: Roads and Infrastructure

Clerk of Works Inspector required to work within the Dunoon.

To assist the Roads and Amenity team to deliver an efficient, effective and high quality service to users by providing a multi-purpose inspection service of the roads and footway network within the Area including notification in advance and monitoring and inspecting progress, of work on the public road and footway network.

This is a permanent post, worked 35 hours per week Monday - Friday.
