Position Overview:
As a Process Engineer your responsibilities will include supporting production activities of pilot and R&D manufacturing lines, improving manufacturing equipment and methods, and driving innovation in techniques to reduce costs, enhance sustainability, and establish best practices. This will be a hands-on role where you will also be involved with suppliers ensuring correct specifications to new machinery. Due to the nature of the role, this position will be based fully on-site in Coventry. The applicant must be able to commute to site.
Key Responsibilities:
In this exciting new role you'll be researching and crafting new methods and equipment. You'll be the go-to person for bringing new equipment online or tweaking current equipment to better suit innovative manufacturing techniques. Your analytical skills will shine as you dissect production data to boost efficiency and solve problems. When something requires troubleshooting your expertise with PLCs, HMIs, and tool management software will help get processes back on track. You'll work closely with vendors to brainstorm and execute equipment upgrades. And of course, you'll keep all the essential documentation, specs, and plans up-to-date.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
You will have excellent understanding of manufacturing and process engineering fundamentals having worked as a Process Engineer previously (ideally for 5 years or more). A background in a volume manufacturing environment is key, preferably within a similar industry. Exposure to data acquisition equipment and software is essential and exposore to PLC controls or similar automated systems is preferred.
Qualifications:
A BSc in Mechanical, chemical, manufacturing or industrial engineering would be a big advantage.
