This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the largest Facilities Management companies in the UK at one of their prestigious clients' sites based in Barrow in Furness who are experiencing significant growth.
Salary: £40 - £45K DOE plus overtime and excellent benefits
Location: Barrow in Furness
Hours of work: 7:30am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday
Health and Safety Advisor
Role Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the H&S Manager in all aspects of delivery of the Company's Health Safety Wellbeing, Environmental and Energy Management Systems.
- Undertaking audits and inspections for site health & safety, catering, contractors, security and developing operating procedures
- Preparing reports and statistics, delivering presentations
- Providing advice and guidance to employees and sub-contractors.
- A critical aspect of the role is the safety leadership behaviours exhibited in setting the tone for the business.
- Proactive investigating and reporting of incidents in a clear and concise way to ensure accurate conclusions can be drawn to enable shared learning.
- Foster a leading approach to safety and wellbeing indicators, positive observations, and continuous improvement methods.
- Assess competence of sub-contractors, carry out risk, COSHH assessments and writing of method statements whilst ensuring compliance with H&S and legal obligations.
- Review F gas register all sites.
The successful candidate:
- Relevant H&S, Certificate IOSH Managing Safely / NEBOSH essential. Behavioural safety experience an advantage.
- Experience preferably in a health and safety/environmental/energy related role with Building Services/Facilities Management/Construction industry.
- Experience in delivering presentations/training sessions.
- Experience of health and safety, environmental, and energy management systems
- Auditing and Compliance experience
- Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office and Databases
- Excellent communication both written and verbal across all levels of internal and external interface.
- Ability to obtain SC Clearance
