We are a locally focused charity with approximately 100 volunteers and employees providing free, impartial, social welfare advice and information on a wide range of issues to residents of Cheshire West. About the role
This is a new project focused on developing and establishing a team of community volunteers in designated marginalised areas within Cheshire West and Chester to (a) help residents who are finding it hard to access information about the services and support available to them and (b) develop the skills of volunteers to improve employability and/or wellbeing.
Key responsibilities
To recruit, train, develop and establish sustainable teams of volunteer Information Assistants in multiple venues across the district
To coordinate and support volunteers in community venues to provide a face to information service
To promote the information service to the local community
To develop and establish a productive ongoing relationship with the designated partner organisations
About you
You will have proven experience of successfully supporting the promotion of volunteer opportunities as well as the recruitment, training and ongoing engagement and recognition of volunteers and the value of their contribution to the service.
