We’re looking for a Building Safety expert who wants a new challenge. You could have any background in building safety, not only housing. This is your chance to make a real impact using your skills and expertise to ensure Coastline continues to keep our customers safe in their homes.

The role
Your responsibilities will include all aspects of building safety and compliance, such as Legionella, asbestos, fire safety, lifts, and radon. This is an increasingly important area of work, and as a senior member of our team you will report to the Head of Property Investment and Compliance and work closely with the Deputy Head. You will manage a team of technical experts and oversee the safety of our homes, a high quality Extra Care Scheme, and modern Homeless Crisis accommodation, meaning there’s plenty of variety and never a dull day! Uniquely, although we have 5,500 homes, none of them are in high-rise buildings over 11.2m.

At Coastline, we prioritise our customers’ safety and satisfaction. We know our customers well, with our in-house facilities team on the ground conducting weekly safety checks, contributing to an impressive 88% customer satisfaction rate that places us in the top quartile.


Key responsibilities
• Ensure the safety and compliance of all properties.
• Manage and lead a team of technical experts.
• Conduct quality checks and manage contractors.
• Oversee budget management and cost forecasting.
• Work directly with customers, translating technical matters into easily-understood guidance.

Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is qualified in or willing to undertake these qualifications in the first year of appointment:
• Level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety or equivalent - ideally a NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety supported by practical application or a further practical qualification such as an IFE-accredited Level 3 Certificate in Fire Safety for Fire Auditors.
• Membership of the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) or a similar safety body.
• Asbestos Management P405, Legionella Responsible Person, and lift management certifications.
• Demonstrable contractor management experience with ability to carry out quality checks.
• Sound IT skills including Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Project management skills and experience.

Salary for this role is within the range £46,000 - £59,000. Please note your salary will be reflected according to your individual circumstances.

A full driving licence and a satisfactory standard DBS check are essential for this role.

The Sustainability Analyst is a permanent role which will manage regular reports and audits to show how Coastline is delivering the Environmental Strategy. Miners Court is Coastline’s extra care living facility in Redruth, providing an integrated care and support service that promotes independence for all our customers. As a Extra Care & Support Assistant you will work with our customers to flexibly to meet their individual needs, in accordance with their care and support plans. We currently have a vacancy for a 30 hour Flexi Contract. The hours for this position are below:

30 hour permanent Flexi contract -
Rota issued 1 month in advance to include a variety of shifts, evenings, weekends and night shifts, full flexibility required as this will be covering annual leave and other absence. £13.02 per hour, increasing to £14.13 after successful completion of training.

Day to day you will:

• Assist customers with all aspects of daily living and personal care including undressing, bathing and showering, and dental and mouth care; toileting, feeding, dressing and moving individuals according to agreed manual handling techniques (using the equipment/aids provided in the trained and agreed manner).
• Support customers with cleaning, cooking, shopping and attending appointments as required. • Administer medication as appropriate and accurately record this as instructed.
•Maintain accurate records of daily occurrences relating to the wellbeing of customers.
•Complete and regularly updating care and support plans with customers

What we're looking for:

We have an exciting role at Coastline as our Projects and Technical Manager. You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of key investment and planned maintenance projects for Coastline from start to finish, together with supporting the Property Surveyor's Team.

In addition, providing extensive technical support on the development of our new homes, including maintenance of our existing housing and non residential assets. Good knowledge of health and safety legislation required of a social housing landlord, including CDM Regulations, construction site requirements, Fire Regulations and Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) are essential. You will hold a Degree or have extensive experience in the profession. RICS or MCIOB would be an advantage. Knowledge of Building Regulations, together with other building legislation. The successful candidate will provide support into Cowlins Mill, which is a project that supports individuals with a background of rough sleeping into education and employment. The rota for this post is:

37 hours per week averaging over a 2 week rolling period as follows:

Week 1: Sat & Sun off, Mon Tues Wed 9-6, Thurs 9-5.30, Fri off

Week 2: Sat & Sun 11-8, Mon & Tues off, Wed Thurs 9-5, Fri 9-6

You would be joining a multi-disciplinary team where the focus is on team work that provides an exemplary service to the individuals we support. This includes supporting the delivery of activities, courses and other teams within the homeless service.

We are less interested in the experience you provide as training will be provided, but more interested in individuals who absolutely feel motivated and can self-manage their time and passion to supporting individuals to move forward with their lives.

We are currently seeking two enthusiastic individuals to join us as our newest Roofing Apprentices. You'll attend St Austell college once a week and on the other four days, work on-the-job, on site with our roofing team actively learning all aspects of the roofing profession.

This is a two year Fixed Term Contract determined by the length of the Level 2 Roofing Apprenticeship qualification. It is due to start in January 2025.

As your course progresses you'll be introduced to various work streams across the business including Responsive Repairs and Minor Planned. You'll be allocated a work mentor, given comprehensive training, guidance and support and have access to Coastline's internal Apprentice networking group, where Apprentices across the business get together to provide support, share experiences and build personal and professional relationships.

We have two roles available and the offer of employment will be subject to successful acceptance on the College course.

We are looking for a Painting and Repairs Operative to join our Coastline Services team. The Painting and Repairs Operative's carry out all aspects of refurbishment works associated with painting and decorating maintenance to all areas of Coastline properties throughout Cornwall.

We are looking for someone who has good general knowledge of building, use of trade equipment and experience of working from height. They should be confident and experienced in working with the public, in a team, and can take initiative working by themselves. Working to specified timeframes, to a consistently high standard is key to this role. Previous painting experience is desired but we are willing to provide full training to the right person.

This role also requires a full driving licence and a satisfactory basic DBS check.

The Deputy Head of PI&C is an exciting new role for Coastline, intended to expand, strengthen and support the team in this increasingly critical area of the business. As our new Deputy you will help lead the Property Investment and Compliance Team, leading and line managing the team, supporting the Head of Service and deputising for them when required. You will help lead on strategic asset management and planned investment in Coastline’s homes and work to ensure we strive to have the best, most energy efficient homes in Cornwall. The PI&C team ensures safety for customers, managing the ‘big six’ of compliance: gas, asbestos, fire safety, legionella, lifts and electrical testing. You will need a sound understanding of these areas and a broad awareness of compliance within the housing industry.

As a multi-skilled kitchen fitter you’ll be a dab hand at all aspects of planned kitchen refurbishment of Coastline’s 5,000-strong housing portfolio, ensuring work is carried out cost-effectively and efficiently, and meeting customer satisfaction targets. We are looking for a kitchen fitter to join our brilliant services team to carry out maintenance and refurbishments within Coastline homes as well as external contracts.

The successful applicant for this role will have proven practical experience working within a multi-trade discipline, as well as general building and maintenance experience. We are also looking for someone who has experience of working with in a customer-focused environment and within a team, and is confident using the plant and equipment required for the job. A good understanding of health and safety at work would be advantageous, as would a relevant technical or vocational qualification.
