What you'll be doing
• You'll deliver practical conservation work to protect and enhance the conservation status of the property.
• Ecological surveys are a vital method of recording the health and condition of our habitats and species, and you will be responsible for coordinating these.
• You'll lead and inspire a small team of staff and large team of volunteers.
• With a responsibility to engage with visitors with our Land, Outdoors and Nature ambitions, you will ensure they understand the value of your work and deliver impactful immersive ranger led events.
• You'll help create a great place to work, sharing common goals.
• A safe working environment is crucial to our work so you will work safely adhering to risk assessments and complying with safety procedures.
• You'll help to oversee the management of a small budget and contribute towards departmental income generation.
We would love to hear from you if you:
• demonstrate a passion for nature, heritage and the outdoors
• have proven countryside management experience, along with relevant academic qualifications or equivalent vocational experience
• have leadership skills, with line management experience and able to motivate and inspire your team of staff and volunteers
• are competent in operating typical countryside machinery and equipment with relevant land-based qualifications
• have strong habitat and wildlife identification skills and an in-depth understanding of land management
• are experienced in tree safety management (TSM level two, or Lantra PTI)
• are highly organised and focused, with the ability to deliver departmental planning, budget management and compliance
• are proficient computer user with excellent abilities in keeping records of maintenance, inspections and monitoring.
