We are in an exciting position to be able to offer an opportunity for a band 5 Therapy assistants lead to join the Children's OT and Physiotherapy service in Coventry
This is an exciting new opportunity for the post holder to lead the therapy assistant team into the future. This includes line management, leading and supporting quality improvement projects and providing clinical delivery to children and young people across Coventry. This role involves carrying a small clinical caseload and experience of working in therapy services is essential.
The postholder will be supported with informal and formal training, related to the role and be integrated into the children's OT and Physio leadership team.
• Responsible for line management of the Occupational Therapy & Physiotherapy Assistants and Assistant Practitioners.
• Responsible for effective patient flow across Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy, including coordinating the Assistants allocation system.
• Will take a lead role in managing Therapy Assistants, including recruitment, retention, supervision, training, appraisals and capacity and demand modelling with clinical specialists.
• Will work collaboratively with both Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy staff and liaise with other teams within the trust as well as other agencies to facilitate the most effective use of Therapy Assistants to support both the services and ensure timely patient flow through designated pathways.
• Will coordinate allocating assistant workforce to cover the service in different settings including schools (including special schools), clinics, home working and nurseries in conjunction with clinical specialists.
• To oversee the training requirements and competencies for the assistant workforce, implementing local and national frameworks.
