The Hinkley Point C (HPC) Commissioning Team is expanding in preparation for the commissioning of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the first nuclear power station to be built in a generation.
In this role, you will be working in a diverse environment and contribute your knowledge and skills to oversee others in the preparation and execution of commissioning activities and work collaboratively with other areas, teams, and programmes.

You will collaborate closely with the Commissioning Delivery Team and other areas of the project including technical and oversight functions. What you’ll be doing


- Develop commissioning documentation relating to the governance and oversight of commissioning testing and system validation activities.
- Contribute to the smooth running of project through the development and oversight of the governance processes required to enable the safe and controlled progress of commissioning.
- Assist in the detailed planning of commissioning authority activities including commissioning phases.
- Assist in the smooth running of the authorisation of site commissioning activities including oversight of the commissioning organisation to achieve successful and safe commissioning of HPC systems.
- Provide information to assist the Commissioning Manager and Senior Commissioning Manager in meeting project-level objectives and milestones.
- Participate in the review of issues and arrangements to ensure that the commissioning programme can continue to manage risks effectively.
- Ensure that the commissioning process adheres to nuclear, environmental, and industrial safety regulatory requirements, incorporating international best practices in safety and technical excellence.

Who you are

As a Commissioning Authority Engineer, you’ll have some knowledge/experience in a highly regulated industry such as Nuclear Generation, Oil & Gas, or other heavy/manufacturing industries.

What you will be doing

As the Configuration Management Lead, you’ll provide technical leadership across health and safety, work planning, quality assurance, financial management, and team development—bringing a strong focus on nuclear professionalism and safety. You’ll oversee configuration progress and ensure design-impact decisions are made swiftly, while maintaining consistent configuration control and proactive collaboration with plant integration and commissioning teams. Key responsibilities include mitigating risks alongside the I&C delivery program, minimising impacts on Independent Confidence Building Measures (ICBM) activities, and supporting Nuclear Services in building a high-trust relationship with the ONR. Additional responsibilities include:


- Lead configuration management of I&C platforms from post-handover of I&C cabinets (MEH to commissioning) through to handover to operations, potentially extending to the first unit refueller.
- Drive HPC to meet safety, quality, time, and cost targets by building a skilled, agile team and developing a responsive configuration control process that aligns with commissioning needs.
- Ensure resource allocation aligns with planned activities.
- Provide proactive leadership in people management, including competency development, performance reviews, and career progression.
- Define and embed effective I&C configuration processes and procedures within the HPC IMS.

- Prepare and review change requests or assessments relevant to I&C scope.


Who you are

We’re looking for you to be a skilled leader with a degree and chartered status in engineering, construction, physics, or a related field, along with a strong foundation in the IAEA standards for configuration management in nuclear power plants. You’ll bring proven leadership and line management skills, along with a successful track record of delivering projects in highly technical, complex, and dynamic settings. Ideally, you’ve honed these skills in the Nuclear Energy sector or another highly regulated industry, maintaining a steadfast commitment to safety, security, and environmental responsibility. Additional requirements to be successful in this position includes:


- Proven experience in effectively engaging diverse stakeholder groups, including those within a matrix organisation.
- Strong presentation, influencing, and facilitation skills paired with excellent communication and organisational abilities to foster relationships and maintain robust networks.
- Sound decision-making skills, adept at resolving complex issues.
- In-depth knowledge of EPR design with hands-on experience in its application.

What you will be doing

In this dynamic role, you will take the lead in managing and coordinating investigations on the HPC Project from start to finish. This includes initiating investigations, gathering evidence, analysing findings, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions to ensure lessons learned are embedded to prevent future occurrences. You will own the Investigation Review Meeting, providing essential support to the committee, while also empowering trained investigators across the project to complete investigations promptly. Your responsibilities will extend to overseeing the governance processes for accepting recommendations from all investigation levels and managing a dedicated team to handle the supporting administration, including utilising the Project’s electronic learning tool. Additional responsibilities include:


- Review and enhance the Project’s investigation processes to identify areas for improvement.

The Opportunity

Hinkley Point ‘C’ (HPC) is a vital part of the UK’s future energy strategy. As the first of the UK’s next generation of nuclear power stations, HPC is both of high profile and high complexity. The project is delivered through an organisation that comprises multi-disciplinary teams.

We are recruiting a Senior Commissioning Engineer, specialised in Security systems, who will be responsible for ensuring the commissioning of all the security systems for HPC, including CCTV, access control and intrusion detection. As a lead of his team composed of Juniors and experienced engineers, he/she will be involved from the early beginning of the detailed design throughout the project lifecycle to ultimately handover the security systems to Operations. Key player of the project team, the individual brings his critical eye into the project to make sure we comply with all the requirements in security and possibly Cyber-security OT aspects.

As a senior engineer, you will also lead technically a team covering mainly security systems (CCTV and AACS) but also involved in few other systems in the field of Network, wireless communications and a specific automation system called “Level 3” systems for data historization and remote monitoring in a long-term activity. The role requires then to contribute technically in some aspects of the other systems supporting experts already in place.

What you’ll be doing

As our next Technical Lead in Security Systems – Commissioning, you’ll be contributing to one of the dynamic I&C Commissioning Delivery teams with direct reporting to an I&C Commissioning Manager. - Support the team in place by helping to schedule commissioning activities on site with the support of the commissioning manager
- Report technical progress on the different sub areas to the commissioning manager.
- Part of the duty is also to maintain and train people involved in the project. On technical aspect, the Senior Engineer shall accompany the progress of the team, teach people and ensure their right SQEP level to deliver on site.

Who you are

With a degree in a relevant engineering discipline and extensive experience in the field, we are looking for you to adapt successfully to new environments, especially in large industries like nuclear. What you will be doing

What You Will Be Doing

What you will be doing

In this dynamic role, you will take the lead in managing and coordinating investigations on the HPC Project from start to finish. Site Nuclear Compliance Officer

We are currently looking to recruit a Site Nuclear Compliance Officer who will be reporting to the Site Nuclear Compliance Manager. This team is responsible for ensuring that compliance arrangements and procedures are defined and implemented in relation to the Nuclear Site Licence (NSL), planning obligations, and lease restrictions and obligations for the Hinkley Point C (HPC) construction site and oversee their effectiveness.

The Opportunity

As a Site Nuclear Compliance Officer, you will work with responsible managers, to ensure that staff, contractors, and consultants working on the HPC construction site understand what is required to demonstrably comply with the requirements of the NSL, planning permission and lease obligations, and provide guidance on these areas, identify shortcomings and address them and promote a proportionate approach as well as continuous improvement. This will require a combination of desk-based activity as well as an active onsite presence to observe or inspect activities.

What you’ll be doing


- Undertaking compliance assessments, the results of which will inform understanding of compliance status and be used to assist others in improving compliance performance
- Undertake inspections of site activities to assess compliance position
- Deliver compliance monitoring on HPC main site against these arrangements with the NSL, planning permission and lease obligations, including production of a monthly compliance dashboard
- Ensure that responsible managers have clear definition of their compliance arrangementsFacilitate self-assessment by responsible managers of site activities to assess compliance against the NSL, planning permission and lease obligations.
- Provision of written and verbal advice on compliance with the NSL, planning obligations and lease restrictions and obligations for HPC to the rest of the HPC Construction Team and delivery partners.
- Engage in a programme of education, coaching and mentoring to ensure that NNB staff and contract partners understand their obligations to comply with the NSL, planning and lease obligations, as well as the supporting compliance arrangements put in place.
- Author compliance arrangements
- Engage in effective communication between all relevant internal and external Stakeholders, including delivery partners, in ensuring that the above requirements are clearly understood and complied with. This may involve delivering contract specific awareness briefings when a new contractor is being mobilised to site or providing and delivering specific topic-related briefs following the identification of specific shortfalls.
- Review and comment on contractors’ schedules and management plans on behalf of the Site Nuclear Compliance team against the NSL, planning permission and lease obligations, to ensure continued compliance with our obligations.

Who you are


- Typically qualified in a Science or Engineering discipline
- Experience in an engineering environment
- Previous experience of dealing with multiple stakeholders
- Previous experience of working on a large construction project, preferably within the Nuclear Industry, would be an advantage
- Experience of working with and developing good relationships with external stakeholders such as regulators, planning authorities and contract partners

As a Training Instructor, you will be employed within EDF’s Nuclear Skills Alliance (NSA), a collaboration between Nuclear Operations and Nuclear New Build (NNB), providing technical skills and knowledge for various phases of the nuclear lifecycle. You do not need nuclear experience, but strong experience instructing within a complex environment would be beneficial. Think you’re ready to step into the nuclear industry, then apply today!

What you’ll be doing…

Reporting to either the Maintenance and Skills Training Group Head or the Engineering and Technical Training Group Head will be based at either Hinkley Point C or Gloucester Business Park. A hybrid working arrangement will be supported. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:


- Undertaking Fleet Certified Instructor (FCI) training within 2 years.
- Developing and delivering Maintenance and Engineering Training related training material.
- Delivering training in classroom and plant simulator environments, as well as providing coaching and mentoring of trainees to expedite learning.
- Acting as course coordinator for responsible training areas.
- Leading and delivering training to groups from 1 up to 20 people, depending on the subject and environment.
- Acting as the subject matter expert for your area and demonstrating a deep understanding of the relevant company standards, becoming the company expert and representative in your areas.
- Ensuring company values, safety and OpEx are embedded throughout the training, training material and lesson plans.
- Communicating with line managers for the successful development of competence within your staff.
- Maintaining relationships with both Nuclear Operations and EPR stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts for development of material.
- Communicating with external contractors if required, to provide training support services.
- Fully contributing to the business plan of the NSA and NNB in support of achievement of our company organisational goals.


Who you are…

A relevant training qualification would be needed for this. You will have experience in deploying effective training methodologies (Systematic Approach to Training). Along with experience in training, learning and continual improvement processes. Do you have experience of promoting training across a large, complex major project organisation. Are you able to lead training projects and have knowledge of external training standards and procedures.

An understanding and experience of modern learning methods, as well as experience in utilising technology for training delivery. You will have the ability to multi-task and juggle different priorities, working well independently with the capability to influence.

What you will be doing

As a member of the HPC Financial Control team, you'll gain hands-on experience in delivering timely, accurate, and insightful management information to support strategic decision-making. You’ll be involved in key financial processes such as budget control and cash forecasting, while also contributing to the enhancement of the team’s data reporting capabilities. Additional responsibilities will include:


- Support the management accounts for the HPC project by verifying monthly ACWP (Actual Cost of Work Performed) figures, working closely with Project Controls and Commercial teams to report, understand, and challenge costs.
- Oversee budget control, accruals, and ensure funds availability.
- Conduct monthly cash forecasting with contract stakeholders to ensure accurate forecasts and avoid holding excess cash.

What you’ll be doing…

As a Financial Controls Manager, you'll offer insightful analysis and commentary to both internal and external stakeholders. - Provide coaching to the business on how to interpret and act on financial reports and information effectively.
- Support negotiations with external parties, including supplier contracts, service providers, and regulatory bodies, to safeguard NNB's financial position.

We’re also looking for you to hold the below:


- Strong commercial and business acumen with hands-on experience driving performance.
- Qualified accountant with credentials from a recognised UK Professional Organisation (e.g., ICAEW, ICAS, CIMA).
- Proven track record in managing, supporting, and challenging performance and internal relationships.
- Familiarity with tools such as SAP, Anaplan, PowerBI, and ECOSYS is a plus.
- Knowledge of industry trends and a solid grasp of external factors impacting the business.
- Exemplifies leadership behaviours and embodies HPC values.
- In-depth expertise in financial processes, ensuring smooth operations.
- Skilled in negotiation and compromise, with a knack for constructively challenging assumptions and business performance.
