We are recruiting for an established Marine & Civil Engineering Contractor that deliver high-quality projects that make a lasting impact. They are now looking for a dedicated and skilled Site Agent to join their team on a marine package on a multi-billion pound project . The package consists of Sheet Piling , Construction of Cofferdams, remediation and much more . Ideally the agent they are looking for will have experience within a marine environment but they will accept experience within Civil Engineering on major projects for Tier 1 contractors.

Please note that if you do not live within a commutable distance of Ipswich,they are able to provide lodge.

Role Overview:
As a Site Agent, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations on site, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. You will manage teams, coordinate resources, and liaise with clients and contractors to ensure deadlines and quality benchmarks are met.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the site operations to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of projects.
• Coordinate and supervise site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Monitor progress, quality, and safety standards to ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring regular communication and addressing any issues promptly.
• Ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
• Produce and maintain accurate site records, reports, and documentation.
• Oversee health and safety on-site, ensuring all protocols are followed.

What We're Looking For:

• Proven experience as a Site Agent or similar role in the [construction/engineering/related] industry.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple teams and contractors.
• In-depth knowledge of construction processes, safety regulations, and quality control.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• A proactive and hands-on approach, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• [Any specific qualifications, e.g., SMSTS, CSCS, HNC/HND, or degree in Civil Engineering or related field].
• Ability to work well under pressure and manage a fast-paced environment.

The role

You will be reporting to the site manager and following his instructions.

You will need to have your own tools.

It is required you have experience in patch plastering, painting, and tiling.

It is required that you have joinery skills for this role.

Must have a valid CSCS Card
Asbestos Awareness (desirable)
Must provide 2 recent references
Own tools and transport

About the role of Site Supervisor

The role of Site Supervisor involves planning, coordinating, and overseeing tasks while serving as the main contact point for the client and the Operations Team. You will be responsible for the Safety, Quality and Environmental standards as well as the welfare of employees and agency labourers. collaboration within a team and strong communication skills are essential for this position. The role holder must be flexible and able to work away from home when required, undertake duties at night and on weekends when necessary.

Responsibilities for Site Supervisor

Delivery

• Delivery of the work programme to the client to time, cost, and quality.
• Carry out weekly site inspections and submit associated paperwork.
• Co-ordinate site works in accordance with the instructions of the client and their Contracts Manager.
• Read and interpret site drawings and specifications.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with CDM 2015
• Manage all sub-contractors and site visitors and ensure their safety during works.
• Liaise with clients and develop good business relationships.
• Keep Contracts Manager informed of any changes to work scopes and issues preventing work being carried out.

Resource

• Ensure resource levels on site are maintained to correct levels and advised Contracts Manager in a timely manner when additional resources are required.
• Manage all sub-contractors and site visitors and ensure their safety during works.
• Deliver Toolbox talk training sessions and complete associated paperwork.
• Manage all sub-contractors and site visitors and ensure their safety during works.

Health and Safety

• Ensure all works are carried out safely in accordance with our SHE Management system and that they do not pose a danger to the workers on site, sub-contractors, site visitors or members of the public.
• Raise near misses and safety observations both positive and negative.
• Comply with site safety rules and our Health and Safety Policies and Standards
• Ensure all sites are left clean and tidy at the end of each shift.
• Ensure that all plant & machinery provided for the works is suitable and that it is in good working order and kept clean.
• Ensure all vehicle and plant checks are completed daily and before the vehicle / item of plant is used during that shift.

Requirements for Site Supervisor

• CSCS Supervisor Card
• SSSTS/SMSTS
• NRSWA Accreditation
• CPCS training in Excavators/Dupers/Rollers and or/HIAB
• Experience in Drainage / Earthworks / Road Construction
• Conversant with CDM / Principal Contractor duties
• ITP Quality Checks
• CAT & Genny
• First Aid Certification
• Good IT skills
• Full UK Driving Licence.
