Role: Quality Engineer
Location(s): Several sites available - Leeds, Bradford, York, Doncaster, Sheffield and Hull
Salary: £45,000 - 60,000/Year (DOE)
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our client's food manufacturing team. As a Quality Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, quality, and compliance of our food products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement quality control processes, conduct audits, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement quality control procedures for raw materials, production processes, and finished products.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and industry standards.
- Collaborate with production, R&D, and supply chain teams to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Investigate and resolve quality-related issues, including customer complaints and non-conformances.
- Monitor and analyse production data to identify trends and recommend process improvements.
- Participate in HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) assessments and ensure adherence to food safety protocols.
- Train production staff on quality standards and best practices.
- Maintain documentation related to quality assurance, including specifications, test results, and certifications.
- Work closely with suppliers to ensure the quality of incoming materials.
- Support new product development by conducting sensory evaluations and shelf-life studies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality assurance within the food industry.
- Knowledge of BRC standards
- Knowledge of food safety regulations (FDA, USDA, etc.) and HACCP principles.
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and quality management systems (ISO, GMP).
